What phone for Grandpa?

I am looking to get a phone for my grandpa. He mastered texting and basic menus on a Silvershine (Mirror) LG KE970 some years ago, but this time he does not want a slide-open phone. Flip-open are no good either.

He is looking for Big Numbers on the screen, big numbers on the handset, colour graphics and easy-to-use menus (no going through five menus just to text for example). Nothing fancy. He is 76 and looking to pay no more than £100.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

Denise

If you can find one, get a Motorola F3. It's got to be the simplest phone I've ever used.

I was looking at this one for seniors.

currys are doing it for £50 - It's simple with no gadgetries like bluetooth, touch screen etc. This one also looks good for £65, but it is flip-top.

[STRIKE]DORO phones look like they'd break too easily. The print on the buttons won't last very long either.[/STRIKE] Can't comment on the Binatone though; I've never handled one.

Scratch that - I was thinking of the old Easy 410. The newer stuff looks a lot better, though I still wouldn't recommend the flip-style.

The doro big button are nice phone, but the button's are not actually that big, it is more like the old style of early mobile phones. Plus i don't the buttons are backlit.

Whereas the Binatone, the buttons are nice and big, backlit. Plus it does have a larger emergency button. Also has 3 nice big memory button's. I have set up a few of the binatone and so easy to use. Get if for about £30 from amazon. Just need to buy a sim card for it as well. Any except Three network
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j

    Thanks all,

The binatone looks ideal, but neilwoods, why not three? I use three in my own samsung monte and has worked great for years.

Doesn't your top-up disappear into a bottomless pit at the end of every month?

Not really sure, but most of these phones are the same, unlocked to every network except the Three network.

Phone suitable for sight impared usually give larger buttons. I['ve seen a few deals for phones that might be suitable (note don't endorse the sites themselves, but just as an example of the phone)
Simple phone, not big buttons, but not much you can do with it, if simplicity is the key
    bigger buttoned phone, basic really.

Hmm... would one of these be suitable? The phone book in this case is an actual paper book.

Thanks Lifeform (and everyone else). I will be shopping around London this weekend and will be taking the considerations on this forum with me. I will be looking closely at the big screen digits and big keypad numbers first and foremost.

I will let you know what I will be buying for Grandpa. As said, he can text and make calls - He just isn't into gadgetry and gimickery. I tried to get him on a computer and facebook but he wasn't interested. 1 Year later he now knows how to look at facebook and navigate/watch youtube videos.
