Waves to Mr GG...Yes, I do know:beer:
Mr GG provided me with info a while back. I'm sure he is happy for me to post the link:
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/dwp/2003/frm/07_exgal.aspI do agree interest should be added for the non -complaint NRPs. But could the CSA cope with the added adminstration?Information is not knowledge.

Update for you, on Friday I got completely fed up with waiting for call backs that just never came so I took Zara33's advise and contacted my MP (by e-mail.
By 11am this morning I had had a call from the CSA advising that they had had a call from my MP and they were advising me with what they were going to do:
They have today issued a "warning" letter to my ex's employer, the employer then has 7 days to respond. If no response then they will send out an inspector to the company, seems like something is finally happenning but why did it take me having to involve my MP before they did anything!!!!!
Will keep you all informed.0 -
Good Luck CrazytartHit the snitch button!member #1 of the official warning clique.

Had a letter from my MP today confirming everything the CSA told me (see post from 12-03-2007, 5:45 PM), he has also put on the bottom that if I have had no money in 4 weeks time to contact him again.
Looks like the ball is rolling! Fingers crossed.0 -
Why shouldn't an evasive nrp pay interest on monies due. My ex has ducked and dived for the past six years, he is in 27k in arrears, if I owed this much to a government body i would be charged interest. Funny they wouldn't have any trouble working that one out. Would they, and its quite surprising how quickly they act when they are owed money0

Indeed frankie. Seems to be a splitof opinion on the viability and economics of applying interest but not (unless I have misread a post), the ethics of it. I still stand by my belief that it would not require any manual intervention by the CSA staff who I acknowledge have too much workload and too little ongoing training. The IT bods on here could expand, but I am confident it only requires a few lines of programme to be added to automatically ID and arrears, instantly calculate the interest and self update once a month.Integrity is a dying art!:p0 -
FANTASTIC NEWS!!!
I've just checked my bank and the CSA have paid a sum of money into my bank account!!!!!
Its more than one months payment but not quite two months so Im not sure what it is, I think I will give them a couple of days to get a letter to me explaining what it is before I get in touch with them, but lets hope this is the start of some regular money for my daughter!!
I really feel that I have only got this after the intervention of my MP so would advise other parents to take this route!
See everyone, if there was light at the end of my tunnell then there is sure to be light at the end of yours!0 -
I agree! Although I will reserve judgement until my ex actually remortgages or has his house sold and pays up.0

Hi crazytart
Great news, I'm sure every penny is gratefully received.
It's not unusual for the CSA to make a rapid series of payments (I once had three in the space of a week) that are oddly split up but accumulatively make sense.
Hopefully you will get a payment schedule through the post soon which may shed light on the amount paid in. It may well be it is last months monthly maintenance PLUS a portion of arrears outstanding.
By law, the CSA has a 'ceiling amount' of arrears they can take off the absent parent every month. This is frustrating for those of us with huge arrears and in my case as I am still not receiving anything, the arrears increase every month. This means in turn they just extend the time overwhich my ex has them attached to the normal maintenance amount (which he isn't paying ...). It's annoying however, that is how it works.
At the last count, I believe arrears for my ex will not get paid off til the beginning of 2009. No doubt, I won't get next month's maintenance (March 2007) either so that will again be split up as an arrear to be scheduled for payment from Feb 2009 through to May 2009!
Every month missed just lengthens my waiting time and my kids having to miss out on things they need now, not when they have grown up! Ah well, rant over and time for another coffeeIntegrity is a dying art!:p0 -
I am in a similar position where my ex partner has a DOE order set up because he evaded paying maintenance for 7 years.
My problem (Well main one at the moment) lol is that the money isnt being sent into the CSA so i keep phoning them to moan and see what is going on to which they always say "we will ring his employers payroll department" to which i reply "as i have made you aware at least 50 times his payroll department are only available on a monday. why have i had to ring you (AGAIN!) to chase it up"?
The short of it is i am having to ring the CSA every monday if no money has been payed into my account (which is most of the time) to chase them up and make sure they remember to ring the ex's payroll department to chase up the over due payments. I feel like screaming i really do as i thought the whole point of setting up a DOE was to make sure the money was reguarly paid and to avoid having this constant battle for the payments.
I think my next step will have to be me contacting my MP and see if they can help make the CSA enforce the DOE with his employers. Although what has happened in the past is the CSA have put pressure on my ex's employers to enforce the DOE, after a while the company has paid in some money and then they revert back to not sending payments in.
