Indeed. And we're trying to ascertain whether OP has a valid case. The info provided thus far is not clear and unequivocal - ergo our posts have been absolutely on topic.

I think some inappropriate and irrelevant posts have been deleted. ;)

Maybe. But all the posts seem to be there that I remember from yesterday, so I took Squeaky's post as being aimed at you and me discussing dates. :|

Apologies to Squeaky if I've taken it the wrong way.

There was a previously banned user contributing trolling posts this morning and trying to cause an argument.

    Hi :)

The Forum Team deleted some posts that were deemed to be off topic, but failed to remove my reminder to those posters. So yes, unfortunately it looks as though my remarks were aimed at you - but I can assure you that they weren't. Honest :)

I've removed that post now - so the thread is back on track... except for these posts now :)
Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Board guides are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an inappropriate or illegal post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. It is not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Any views are mine and are not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.

    In an email ...

Email is a durable form. Durable basically means something which cannot be edited and can be reproduced (so fax, email, letter etc). Websites arent durable.

And remember, if they informed you of your right to cancel under the DSRs (also in a durable form) then you have 7 working days starting the day after delivery. If they did not, you have 3 months and 7 working days.

But if you have told them within 1-2 days that you wish to cancel by email, you are covered by the DSRs. You do not need to say that you wish to cancel under the DSRs, you only need to express that you intend to cancel your order. They should fully refund you within 30 days of receiving your cancellation request (including the original postage cost - they can ask you to pay for return postage costs if you were advised of this prior to the conclusion of the contract, if you werent.....your only responsibility is to take reasonable care of the item and make it available for collection at your convenience and their expense). If they do not, they are in breach of DSRs and should be reported to trading standards.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
