If I stick to chicken thighs or lean mince beef n veg combo (stew, casserole, s.bol, home-made burger, meatballs, grill, roast etc.) I'd get it in under a couple of squid (£2)0 -
Duty lunch at work, free, as long as I do the things I'd do anyway, like see kids, help them if they need it, deal with issues....Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Half a tin of sardines in tomato sauce (34.5p) + 2 handfuls of frozen veg (15p) + 1/2 pack of flavoured cous cous (29p) = 78.5p.
It's a quick, easy dinner, easily doubled and tastes much nicer than it sounds.0 -
lentil soup 69p a pack,an onion(grow my own)half pack cooking bacon(li£les 1.25 full pack so say 60p) carrot (grow my own) home made bread 35p so really filling and does us 3 for a dinner and freeze for another approx 1.65 love it one of our fav foods can also bulk it out when really cold with spuds.xxx:)C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

But my lot love stuffed mushrooms made with a pack of portabello mushrooms 4 large in local GG were £1 then make up a pack of cheap golden vegetable rice (I use Mr A's it is much nicer than Mr S's) and fill the mushrooms, top with a slice of cheese ( grated tends to go everywhere) and put on an oven tray with a little water, so that the mushrooms will be nice and soft, then put into the oven 180c until the cheese is bubbling. I serve them with an omelette and the boys usually have a couple of sausages as well.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Not Buying it 2015!0 -
Reckon HM pizza in this household. Dough for the bases is about 25p in the breadmaker. Value passata is about 30p. Value mozzarella about 45p. Sometimes put mushrooms, onions, olives, pepperoni on there but no more than about £1 on toppings. So £2 for two 12" pizzas. Still miss the dominos but that's more like £12 for 2" pizzas!0

Bacon/onion/potato bake
Slice up lots of spuds/chop up some onions and chop a pack of bacon (cheap smoked - I take off the end bit for later)
Bung it all in a casserole dish in layers with herbs and pepper, then mix some tomato puree with water and put on top, cook slowly for hours then take the lid of and bung on lots of grated cheese to brown - yum.

The problem with merging these sorts of threads is that the first stuff is pretty out of date and prices are insanely different now
Mine is probably dhal: Onions, lentils, garlic, ginger and various spices.
Lentil soup, ropey/YS veg soup
Veg biryani
Can't be bothered to price them up but they must be a pittance.0 -

Their mozzerella is also around the same price and very nice, it can be eaten sliced with tomato & olive oil as a starter it is that good quality.
The kids also love a tin of beans & sausage topped with mash & cheese. Quick & can't cost too much either.
We do eat healthy some times:rotfl:

Got the 37p Combino last weekend. Can't wait to try it; you can't really make it for less than that with decent chopped toms, herbs and the electricity used though I do feel like a cheat having jars for once0
