Ryobi and Weekend Delivery

Hi all,

wondering if anyone knows an online store that sells Ryobi power tools (and in particular the cordless items) but that also delivers on Saturday.

Screwfix seem to have a really limited stock on this (perhaps surprisingly) and I'm wondering if there are any alternatives out there.

Can't understand for the life of me why this country doesn't have more weekend delivery... you'd think no-one is expected to work Mon-Fri!

Cheers.

Most large B&Qs (depots?) are open to 9pm. Surely you ain't that much of a workaholic? :D

Why don't you get it delivered to your workplace?

Have you tried eBay and looked for "nearest first"? Find a new unused product, bid, win, and arrange to pick it up yourself on a Saturday or Sunday.

    Cheers

Yes I am such a workaholic unfortunately.... most of the time. And I don't have a car, so getting to those depots is harder than it sounds!

Unfortunately my workplace is the sort of place where they aren't going to take kindly to a hedgetrimmer turning up (amongst other things).

So you work Monday to Friday, but expect everyone else to work at the weekends just because it suits your lifestyle.

    Well yes.

The way more and more of us are internet shopping nowadays, means that there is a need to alter and innovate in terms of delivery options.

Late evenings, weekends and local drop off points are all being used

Most of the online stores will deliver Saturdays, if not an option on the screen then phone them up

I just leave a note on the doorstep saying "Parcels. If not in, please leave with neighbour."

    There's usually someone in.

I used to try doing that, but I kept getting various courier firms saying they refused to leave things where instructed to avoid liability. A real pain.

Amazon, that's an interesting thought, thanks.

But you don't want the inconvenience of working anti social hours, nor do you want to get a bus/taxi/lift from a friend to the local stores, most of which have long opening hours. B & Q open until 8.30, screwfix, the same, Tescos are open 24 hours a day, regional skipping centres are often open until 9 or 10 in the evening. You just expect everything to be delivered on your terms regardless of the impact on others.

EDIT: Actually, I decided it's not worth the fuss to respond to this at length. Phill99, I don't know where the chip on your shoulder comes from, but I'm not looking to drag some poor courier unwillingly out of bed on a saturday morning, I'm looking for someone to provide a service that I would happily pay extra for. If Ocado and screwfix can do it I'm sure other firms will, just less than I expected.

Thanks to the person who suggested Amazon by the way, seems to work and have the right stock.
