    Definitely go!

    In your exit interview make sure you note the way you were promised this that and the other to stay, so you did, but nothing came of it.

    That's a terrible way to treat an employee.

    If they ask you to stay ask for the back pay on the previous promises immediately and then if they pay that 2 years extra up front with no conditions.

    The problem is now that all trust has gone. If they were to say to you now that they'll sort out the pay increase providing you don't go, how can you trust them to follow it through? You could blow this second chance out of the water and still be messed about.

    It's time to move on.

    You really have to ask? I'd be out of there so fast you wouldn't see me for dust. Did you get the pay rise agreed in writing? If not, NEVER agree to anything like this without getting it in writing first. If you did, I'd be putting in a backdated claim for the wages you've lost out on.

    Definitely go. I'd personally take it as a sign they didnt really value me that much, they just couldn't be bothered to hire someone else. But, as someone else has pointed out, make sure you let them know precisely why you are leaving.
    Data protection is there for you, not for companies to hide behind

    I am a full time Civil Servant and have done the same.

    I applied for two jobs and was offered one (without a definite start date) and accepted it, I then got offered the second job (with a definite start date) and told Job 1 that I was withdrawing my acceptance and they were fine with it.

    So it can be done with no consequences.
