You will need to say which housing band you are in as the water charges are based on the properties ratable value.

Before I went onto a meter my house in Band E was £80 dearer than my neighbours band D property, both with Severn Trent.

My bill as i now have a meter has dropped from £480 to £160 a year.

Non-Metered charges are indeed based on Rateable Value(RV)

However Rateable Value(RV) is absolutely nothing to do with "Housing Band" (e.g. Council Tax Bands)

Housing Bands are calculated on the value of a property. RV's were not!

Thus you can get a £million property in Band H with a lower RV than a £100K property in Band A; and therefore the Band H property will pay less water charges than Band A property in the same area.

So quoting your RV(which can be found on your water bill) might serve some purpose; but your housing band will not.
