Hi there!
I've had my iPad 2 for 4 months now but i feel the "honeymoon" phase is over. my love for it is slowly waining and i miss having to own a tablet that is very customisable and has a lot more features.
I currently have the HTC Incredible S and previously had tablets such as the old 7" Galaxy Tab and the HTC Flyer. but now it would seems there are more Android tablets on the market and with Ice Cream Sandwich on them which is the standard/universal OS which would translate to even more/stable/compatible apps on the Google Play market.
May i ask of your suggestions on what good alternative tablets i can check out as an alternative to my iPad 2?
Please....

I'd appreciate a bit of guidance here as well as I got the Sony S tablet for Christmas and wasn't pleased at all and regretting NOT buying the iPad. I'm not a "gamer" so Sony's PSP wasn't a plus for me but may be for others. I want ease of use and speed when using the touch screen features. Looking to replace as well ...0

We all know the iPad has more really great optimised 1st-party and 3rd-party apps/games and a top-notch iTunes music store. Google Play market is slowly growing and with Ice Cream Sandwich into more devices it looks set to challenge Apple.
I miss having a device with an SD card slot, a better camera, dual stereo speakers, multitasking tab and basically slightly more portable.
I was put off buying the "new" iPad because I heard that apps are installed twice the file size because of this Retina display. Only the graphics part improved but it is still roughly the same dual core thing.
Ice Cream Sandwich supposed to tackle issues of fragmentation and incompatible apps. I think it is doing that. But is there any tablet to really challenge the iPad 2 today?0 -
I think that if you're not happy with what you've got - or what you had - you won't really be happy with any tablet.
I got a Playbook a few months ago and, while it does have the stereo speakers and stereo mics I wanted in a tablet..these days I'm like, 'so what?'
I barely ever pick the thing up.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I don't think there is anything better than Ipad currently. but as you have said with ICS, an actual tablet based os (Rather than just having the mobile os thrown on tablets) I think over the next year or two we should see improvements Thing is Tablets aren't really in high demand as yet, and I think over the next 12-18 months the demand will rise substantially, and proper manufacturers will be bringing out tablets that are very comparable and beyond to what they Ipad currently is to the market.
These include the options we want, like expansion cards (though I doubt apple will ever do that, unless they run out of ideas) ease to use on the go, at home, small, compact, light, decent battery. Good app support etc. Just need to give it time.0 -
Well, in the past 12-18 months people were saying that tablets will be well-known and will be in demand. Look at the situation now.0

There really isn't anything out there better than the iPad currently. If you want more freedom to customise the user interface and settings have your thought about jail breaking you iPad? It improves the user experience dramatically in my opinion.0

pen and paper is much better
you can have a new updated piece of paper everyday0 -
I heard of jailbroken iPads but I am afraid of doing it simply because I don't know how to do it, the warranty might be voided an I might not reverse jailbreak it if I want to.
I know the iPad is still good but I thought with the onslaught of this Ice cream Sandwich tablets ( and update to current ones) is there any close competition?0 -
...is there any close competition?
Aside from the Asus Transformer Pad? Not really. If you wait a few months you might be able to get your hands on an iPad 2,4 but that's something of a gamble since Apple doesn't tell you exactly what you're getting.0
