But before you do that, I'd suggest that you get rid of iTunes (the music organiser) on your PC. The reason for its existence is primarily to get you to buy from iTunes (the music store).0

I've slept on this and decided to delete the link to offshore cheap MP3 downloads as it breaks the forum rules on grey area topics.

I use Amazon. Most tracks 89p, plus I get Nectar points and they're mp3's rather than Apple's silly format which can't be used on other devices.
Even the 99p is better than the £3.99 for a CD single I used to pay. Albums can be had for £4+ if mp3.0 -

I use iTunes because I've found it the easiest and best program for a large music collection on my Touch.
I don't buy music from them, however.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Itunes itself is fine. Keep using it, just don't buy music. But don't forget, if your children already have music, either digitally (on the computer) or as a CD, you can put those on too, rather than buy.
Definitely look at itunes cards when they're cheap. There's a thread going around to show you where you can get them.0 -
I personally use Spotify on my ipod.
You'll have to buy a premium license to keep to music on the go, but it's around £5-10 a month (cant remember exactly) and that's basically for all the music you want.- David0
