Hi all, I have just bought an iPod touch for my daughter. I have just downloaded 2 songs onto it to get her started and these were £0.99 each!! Is there anywhere else you can download music, films and videos which is a bit less pricey???

To state the obvious, you are asking the same question that every new iPod owner has asked themselves for more than a decade.
Yes, there are numerous alternatives to iTunes for downloads, and Google can find them for you. Many will be cheaper, some will be free and legal, others "free" and not legal.
But before you do that, I'd suggest that you get rid of iTunes (the music organiser) on your PC. The reason for its existence is primarily to get you to buy from iTunes (the music store).
There are plenty of other music managers out there that do everything iTunes does, work perfectly with iPods, don't have the bloat and don't have a deliberately complex/confusing internal library format to stop you moving away once you're hooked. Examples: Songbird, Winamp, MediaMonkey, etc...0 -
You can ;
Import existing mp3 and other music files into iTunes from your PC, memory stick or external drive.
Import your music CDs into iTunes using the CD drive on your PC.
Both of which are free, once you've got the music in the first place.0 -
'Ave a butcher's at these. Sainsbury's might be worth a punt too.0

Amazon is quite cheap for music downloads. I usually use iTunes because it's easier (and its the best media player on a Mac).0

I tend to buy albums from iTunes as they work out better value than singles.:beer: Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

I like the idea that Itunes allow you to complete an album with any single tracks that you may have bought by deducting the single price.
I also use Tune Checker.
I normally check Amazon for the MP3 Album of the week for anything that might tickle my music taste buds (use to be £3.99 but now £4.99)0 -
Also look out for the 20% off Itunes voucher deals. I rarely pay 100% for my Itunes.
Clinton Cards, Morrisons, Co-op, Pc World, Argos, Boots etc. do have deals from time to time!!! (either by needing a voucher, code or discounted at the till)
Tesco Clubcard sometimes have deals too.0 -
Wow, thanks so much for all your replies!!
Any info on films at all??0 -
