You could try on-ear Sennheiser HD202's - cheapish and good enough to be used in edit suites across the BBC0

I like Shures
you can get refurbs on eBay for about £40. £70+ new
far heavier duty cabling than cheaper sets
nice tight in ear fit too(if you like that)
I was getting around a year to 18 months from mine
that was out on delivery 5/6 days a week
running,gym etc
wrapped round the ipod when not in use and stuffed in bag/pocket0 -
I wasn't being rude by stating that. I still use the cheap headphones that came with my phone(cheapies I guess) over a year ago. My son has gone through about 10 pairs at least in that time. I wouldn't spend more than a quid for his headphones:rotfl:
Some people are rather too sensitive4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I got a pair of canalphones in ASDA the other day. Not a bad sound once you figure out how to put them in. Bit uncomfortable though...0

£15 on sennheiser earbuds will be great for her needs really. Certainly good enough for me, and miles better than ipod/iphone earbuds. The ones with inline volume and pause button are usually listed for ipods but also work fine on my android mobile.0

ones with foam earpieces is what you want.

Foam wears out, though. Sony make excellent and highly regarded silicon tips which are fairly cheap. Like the ones on my ie8s in this picI shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
