Disgusting, but sadly not surprising. The conservative's never change, it constantly amazes me that people still vote for them.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

Its not exactly an impartial website though is it.Its a Left wing Socialist blogger. Which in laymans terms means they are Loony lefties airing their point o view. Its not gospel and neither is it factual.
Anyone can blog on the internet ,I would question the source before agreeing with the OP...;)
Personally I think all Political Parties have some great ideas and some crap ones.
The Tories generally want each citizen to stand on their own 2 feet (great idea)but at the same time have a safety net in case of need(great idea)but always look after the wealthy first whereas Nu-Labour always think they know how to spend out taxes better than we do ,they always look after the workshy and f eckess and always get voted out for nigh bankrupting the country. Both parties are b tiches to the City of London......
I would like to see a happy medium where the truelly needy are looked after and the sizeable minority of workshy f eckless made to contribute... Shame none of the parties will give this.
As the saying goes "Pin a red rosette on a donkey and some people would vote for it"........;)0 -

I wasn't stating support for the blog posted or the way it was written as such, I was stating the fact that Ian Duncan Smith's comments are not surprising as most of the Conservative party will always be out of touch with working class and lower middle class people.
They will always have the same view of people on benefits regardless of the claimants being genuine or not. The Tories couldn't give a Toss about anyone but the wealthy; if they had their way our NHS would be fully privatised, homelessness and poverty would be at an all time high and they would finish their mission to systematically take down the remaining unions.
Make no mistake; I'm not a huge fan of Labour, not after the disaster that was Gordon Brown. My family is also far from working class, but no matter who you are or where your from everyone can surely see this coalition for what it is. I can't stand the way the ConDem coalition is running this country into the ground while spewing vile lies and victimising people who are on benefits (read anything posted on any forum about benefits online and about Atos), homelessness http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/feeding-homeless-to-be-banned-by-tory-run-westminster-113433 and people on the poverty line.
The current government on the whole doesn't care about you, your health or your job. Unless you happen to be very wealthy and influential.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

I did read the link on the post.Do you believe that newspapers are impartial?.
My experience they all have their own agendas.
A prime expample is the BBC,s coverage of the French Election. They said that Hollande had won by a clear majority of about 3% and at the same time said that Boris Johnson had only just won the London Mayor election by a close margin 4%...
Its very easy to manipulate the same few words to mean 2 different things.0 -
IDS is the biggest gobsh!te in a cabinet full of gobsh!tes,he was put there by dodgy dave as a sop to the tory right,my bet is he will be first to go in the coming re-shuffle,as it says in the link its gone very quiet on universal credit.0

I can't stand either party but for each of your arguements theres a counter one.
Most of Nu-labour are out of touch with the grass roots, they are all middle class graduates who have never had a proper job but seem to think they have the answers .
You mention the Tories would privatise the NHS, the truth is the NHS has massive waste, not fit for purpose and Nu-labour signed up all the PFI hospitals and forced them into 30yr contracts with private companies.
Its too early IMO to say they will run the country into the ground, give them a fair crack of the whip.We all gave Labour 13 yrs and what did they do? the ONLY jobs they created where in the Public sector, some of which were needed but 98% are just a cost as they produce nothing and don't create wealth.
They created few jobs in the private sector and chose to suck up to the Banks and look where that took us.
The previous Government cared nothing for me or my family so nothing has changed. When you give people benefits that allows them to stay at home rather than go out and work, contribute to Society its a recipe for disaster. Was it ever right to pay £3k a month in housing benefit to keep a family in London.
I don't like the Tories but I hold Nu-labour to blame for the poor Governance we have endured for the previous 13yrs.I take all newspaper posts with a pinch of salt ,I put more trust in what I see with my own eyes.
So whats your solution? who should Govern us?0 -
But it isn't to early to say they will run the country into the ground; they HAVE already. Recession dip, massive unemployment and people being stripped of much needed benefit and disability aids left right and centre. And all the government can do is carry on with this bunker mentality ignoring the public outrage and blaming it all on the previous government, which is becoming a tired excuse.
My solution is simple; exercise common sense and choose the right people to run your parties. Gordon Brown cared about one person, himself. His name in the history books and how people would see him in the coming years. He failed. David Cameron and his lackeys are nothing but rich little Eton boys living in a bubble, Nick Clegg is a spineless idiot, and I just don't trust Ed Milliband, something about him seems very slimy, like a used car Salesman.
So far mistake after mistake has been made because of bad leadership. So we need someone like a modern day Clement Attlee, but they just don't produce politicians like the old set anymore unfortunately.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

If the previous Government hadn't left the country penniless ,the world was in an economic turmoil, the UK in huge debt (not all Labours fault) which by the way has to be paid back or any further money the country borrows would incur interest rates of 6-8% rather than 1-2%.Its down to trust if the money markets doubt our ability to pay it back they hold all the cards they will crucify us with interest rates. So given this fact where will the money come from to pay for the benefits system as it was ie paying out far more than we took in income tax receipts?.Where is the money coming from to "invest" in infrastructure etc?.

Agreed and Tony Blair cared about his own ego whilst at the same time feathered his own bed , what exactly was his legacy?.Who are the right people?.All the top economists can't agree on the best coarse of action.

Personally I have time/respect for people like Frank Field but you wouldn't like him as he reported the need for the overhaul of the benefit system so he's def taboo with lefties , he has integrity and IMO is one of the few honest MP,s.The big problem for me is as soon as a genuine problem is highlighted (unafordable welfare bill,NHS waste etc ) the lefties shout fowl with accusations of rascism, bigotry and vitriol rather than having a coherant debate.
Think your naive if you think the politicians of old were any more honest than those of today, they were just as dishonest but made a better job of concealing it.There are exceptions but a handful at best.
If your interested read the following link ,IMO it sums up the feeling of the vast majority of the public. At least its thought provoking rather than the poor excuse for journalism in the OP.

Why are you against benefits in general? I'm genuinely curious, it may just be the way I'm interpreting you, I hope it is. I'm not "leftie" as I said I'm no fan of any political group at the moment. I think people on sickness benefits should have reassessments every few years to check they are getting the right amount still and to check changes in conditions. But I don't believe people should be bullied, stigmatised and victimised just because they need to claim benefits. Look up anywhere online, including this forum and the other MSE benefits forum, see the horror stories for yourself surrounding the current sickness benefit reforms.
I couldn't comment on other benefits, I have no knowledge of them.
Clement Attlee is widely regarded as the best peace time priminister this country has ever had. While no human being is perfect, that party got pretty good results. Unlike these sorry excuses we have now, to who lying comes as easily as breathing.
I think most of the public feel like me, they see riots, they see genuine sick people labeled scrounger's by an uncaring government. They see anger and panic everywhere. They see a country on its knees and they see a cold narrow minded ignorant leader moaning about the previous government yet again, as if they were solely responsible for the entire worlds economies downfall. Cameron's own back benchers are turning against him.
I didn't read the original article, or yours, believing any opinion written; I just see the statements made by IDS and it reinforces my opinion of him, and the rest of the current government.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.
