Caxton FX Card security concerns

I got to the airport last week and realised I had forgotten the PIN for my Caxton FX card, without which it would have been useless. Thankfully I found the number for their IVR line and was able to retrieve it using the card number and my date of birth.
It then occurred to me that if I could get it so easily, then so could anyone else. For example, I keep my driving licence in the same wallet as my cards; if my wallet was stolen then the thief could just call Caxton, retrieve my PIN and empty the card at an ATM before I even realised it was missing. If you pay using it at a shop that asks for ID - buying alcohol, for example - then they potentially have enough information to clone the card and then retrieve the PIN.
Maybe I'm being overly paranoid, but just needing to know the cardholder's date of birth seems a little lax to me.
