Selling on Amazon

I have just registered to sell on Amazon, but when I try to list an item it asks me to check if there is something similar already listed.

There is, but not in the size I want to list. I can't find the option to edit the title of the item. How do I bypass this and list ?

Sorry if it is a really stupid question

I've been using Amazon for 23400000000000 years and as far as I know, unlike Ebay, you can only sell items already listed on Amazon

    I could be wrong
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

You are correct. Unless OP is a pro seller they can only sell what is already in catalogue or what another seller has added to the catalogue.

You can upgrade at any time, it costs around £30 a month including VAT and you don't pay quite as much in selling fees when you sell something.

I only know the cut off for books, but the tip point for upgrading used to be 30 books a month, 30+ meant your overall fees were lower, fewer than 30 meant you paid more taking into account the membership.

Although this mainly relates to books and is a bit out of date, read the first few posts on this thread:

Thanks Soolin, I've saved that for info.

Will I get an email notification when I sell something, or do I need to keep checking my Amazon account ?

You *should* get an email, but when I sold a lot on there I made a habit of checking twice a day just in case.

With Amazon always just double check the net proceeds you will get before you click 'confirm' to list and remember the new postage costs from RM.

I want to offer free postage on an item, but Amazon is automatically charging postage. Is it possible to override this ?

Nope - Often why you see items on sale for £0.01

I also think Amazon sellers have to adhere to distance selling regs (7 day return for whatevcer reason)

That said I sold loads stuff on Amazon and apart from getting better price than Ebay, always got an email when I sold something

You can set your own postage fees once you upgrade to a pro-seller.

For me personally I have been on Amazon since October and my Amazon are around 3-4 times my eBay sales, this week for example we had 656 eBay sales and 2669 Amazon sales (and still more INR's etc on eBay than Amazon but that is a completey separate discussion)
