Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 7th May 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all! Up and at 'em bright and early.....well to be honest, had a nap yesterday afternoon so couldn't sleep well, been awake since 4 so just got up and organised, washing is out, bins out, just about to throw myself in the shower. I've got 3 days of Control and restraint training ahead of me, and no doubt will be needing another nap by lunchtime! OH and DD have the day off, no doubt the house will be a tip by the time I get home, never mind!
Have a good day all!RIP Iain

Good Morning All
Sunny start here in Essex :j and for a Bank Hol Monday!
Didn't post yesterday as I was ill, must have been a 24 hour bug, am fine now but literally didn't do a thing yesterday
We were due to go to London today, but DS now wants to go out with his friends and OH isn't bothered either. DD still wants to go out so will arrange something when she gets up. Will get OH to sort dinner as he is staying at home.
House is reasonable but not great and the paperwork pile on my office is growing each day. Will try and get some stuff done this morning before I head out.
Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday Monday & see some sunshine!

Morning everyone
I need to get a grip, whenever H is at home I just don't get stuff done. I thinks it's because he's sitting or standing about, getting in the way etc and as a result the house is a tip with him being off sick all week :o need to kick my butt and get a jump on the housework today regardless of him being at home. Wish me luck as trying to clean around a dog, two small children and a husband always feels like an impossible task.
Anyway off to walk the hound shortly, think I need to bolster myself with another coffee though first.
Need to pop to Aldi and pick up some spuds etc for the week then come back home and clean, clean, clean.
Tea might be chicken fajitas.
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all
The sun is nearly out here, hubby's off to work today but he isn't starting early. I'll cook his breakfast when he gets up, his packup is already made.
I finished a blanket yesterday & started another one, I'll post a pic on my blog later.
I shall do some housework whilst hubby is at work & will get my sewing machine out to alter a dress for DD.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Essexgirl hope you feeling better
No bank holiday at the uni but quite a quiet week fingers crossed (last week was totally manic and i spent over 30 hours on admin which is supposed to be a very small part of my job!) so planning on catching up on the day job this week. Rained really hard last night after i'd strimmed the lawn and looks like more's on the way. Wishing the weather would cheer upMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

morning all
decorating our hallway here. fingers crossed the best part of it should be done today. hubby has stripped and re-papered the walls and we started painting last night. just the top half (and difficult bit) to do and floor needs doing then we're done. floor wont be done today the walls will be.
other than that apart from constantly needing to hoover because of paper everywhere, nothing os has been happening really.need to fit some baking in today as we are going to hubbys nans for dinner tonight. said i would take something a long with us.
mount washmore has gotten huge but the weather has been so rubbish and with wet paint around, its just not been do-able. need to do some today though. ds is running out of clothesthe boy has hundreds so you can guess how big the pile of washing is
going to put a load on, have a bath and then get moving... well thats the plan anyway"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Morning all,
Not raining here but the sky looks full of it, I have a load in the wm, and will chance it on the line for an hour.
Need to nip out in a while and drop my car off for its MOT, service and air con recharge, lets hope is passes ok.
Dinner tonight will be pasta based, I have some bacon and cream to use up, so it will invovle that.
We are going to go out somewhere later on, just to get out for an hour or so, not sure where yet, might go for a ride round till we find somewhere.
OK better get on, have good days all xxx0 -
Good morning all,
Seems like a nice day at the moment, I'm not sure if it is going to change. I'll have to keep a look out as the washing is out. It has been a while since i have been able to get the washing out because of the weather.
Hubby has gone to bed as he has work tonight, he was on nights last night as well. Just light housework today and then i will hoover through when he gets up later.
Hoping sons gf will cut my hair today. It is getting so long, i can't do anything with it.
Need to get some cakes made today. Dinner tonight is gammon with hm wedges and salad.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.
