I guess it's true that it's all down to internet !!!!!!. Boys in their teens very often will have not seen a woman in the buff apart from that, and they are all completely shaved, so they see it as the norm. Which in turn makes young girls feel embarrassed/not normal about having hair down there.0

I don't know. I started shaving from my teens, no one influenced me i just didn;t like the feeling of hair. Plus i suffer with heavy periods and would find the blood would matter in the hair:eek: I felt so much more cleaning when i shaved it:o I thought at the time i was in the minority and most people had hair but as it turned out alot of my friends at the time shaved too.
I have no idea what my friends do so whether I'm in the minority I have no idea.wondercollie wrote: »I honestly think it's related to the rise of on-line !!!!!!. I was looking at some pictures taken in barracks rooms in the early 80s. All the pin ups had full and flowing bushes. Hell, back then legs weren't even shaven.
Trim the sides so they don't escape the bathing suit was the norm. Still is I guess.
I remember the love of my life telling me not to shave it ever again because it made him think of a little girl and it was off putting.
Look at the !!!!!! stars they've waxed and whitened themselves so much that the young men of today think it's the norm and expect it.
Waxin? Never heard of it before "Sex and the City"
Yes I agree that !!!!!! gives a false idea of how men and women should look.I guess it's true that it's all down to internet !!!!!!. We need to somehow let young women and men know that they don't need to conform to the ideal that hair is an imperfection.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I've experimented with a few looks. At 16 I decided to shave a heart shape in. It looked more like an accident rather than a design.
As a woman who has been with both men and women, strangely enough I would prefer my women to be fully shaven and men not shaved at all or slightly trimmed if its really bad. I guess thats why I shave fully now and actually feel a bit awkward with my boyfriend going anywhere near there if it's not smooth (although I don't think he is all that fussed as long as it isn't wild).
There is just something about hair from the neck down that I do just find repulsive, but as a woman with the lowest pain threshold in england and the fastest growing leg hair on the planet, sometimes I do leave my legs for a week or so.
Oh and I must admit, I broke up with a long term boyfriend and actually decided to not wear make up or shave for a month as an empowering thing. At the end of the month, I had a full shave, did my make up, and felt totally refreshed. A bit like growing out the old and bringing in the new! Don't think I could handle wearing jeans and long sleeved t-shirts again though :rotfl:0
