PPI query

I have recently had a claim being investigated by a large reputable company with some loans i had with mbna .That resulted with a final letter from them saying there was no claim. The letter ended with the final comment "unless i have any proof of ppi being miss-sold". I thought this was a strange comment to finish the letter based on the fact they should have the paperwork and i either did have a claim or i didnt. My question is can i demand to have the paperwork they have had from mbna sent to me so i can check the paperwork myself .

I was going to say that your first sentence was an oxymoron but perhaps not.
They are saying the bank has no evidence to support the missale complaint and so, unless you have any, they see no point in going further.0 -

You may think this "reputable" company is trying to fool you, but if that were the case it would be costing them money (30% of any redress) to do so.0 -

Dam right i do. Or am i out of order in my thinking, only i take the view we are talking about companies that refused point blank to recognise any wrong doing with these ppi claims for a long time, and only when they were forced legally to correct the situation did they do so. On that basis i have to say i dont believe a word they say and would much rather see the paper work they hold and see for myself. I thought it was for them to prove i DONT have a claim0 -

It's not in the CMC's interests to lie to you; you are potentially paying them handsomely to act on your behalf.i dont believe a word they say and would much rather see the paper work they hold
You could send a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter to MBNA, it costs £10 and they have 40 days to send details of all they have on record for you.

Unfortunately, if this turns up nothing in relation to your complaint (and you have no documentary evidence yourself) then you'll have to accept that you are not being duped.0 -
Thank you moneyineptitude

Update ...Requested any information the claims company have recieved from mbna to be sent to me which they have done ..and guess what ..The only information mbna have sent to claims company is regarding our credit card which we had already stated we new didnt have an issue but for the loans which we are contesting no information was forwarded to claims company. So it is possible had we left it this would not have come to light. Will be contact the claims company on monday to make sure that they are not holding any more info by mistake0

If you had written your own complaint the Bank wouldn't send you written "proof" of why your complaint wasn't upheld. It's the same with a CMC.0
