    On the DVLA website:

Vehicle details could not be found
As it has not been possible to locate the vehicle details, your enquiry cannot proceed and has been cancelled.

    On askMID:

YES (REG PLATE) showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today.
The details on the MID are:

Vehicle Make/Model: LEXUS IS 200 SE

get it off the road then before it might be seized by dvla tax division
you are very lucky not to have been pulled

You need to get down to your local DVLA office Tuesday where you should be able to sort the registration out and tax it at the same time. Until then the car needs to be off the road.

Not taxed hence no airport run tomorrow, well legally anyway.

I would never leave it so long to wait for my reg doc to turn up.

So you've managed to insure a car that's not on the dvla database.

    How did you do that?

To be fair, if the insurer cannot find your registration details they just ask for make, model, trim, colour and put it in manually. I've had it happen twice.

yes but if OP had car stolen it would or could be messy because as far as dvla are concerned it doesnt at this point exist
you will see that the OP is very lackadaisical in their approach to paperwork so if selling dealer had gone bust and he doesnt have bill of sale he would/could be treat as a fraudster
lets put it another way i buy cars occasionally fallen off the system im on the phone until its sorted with names dates times and all details and i keep every scrap of paper for 5 years
this way you stay on the ball not hope it will fix itself if you ignore it
dvla are a machine and you have to input to get output
