Surely the cheapest and easyest way is to set up a facebook page.

Ok you can't mess around with the layout so much, but it's free and one of the best wysiwyg (What you see is what you get) methods you'll find for someone non techie.

You can buy domain names (https://www.yourbusinessname.com/.co.uk) from many online sources, I got mine at 123reg was extremely cheap to buy also.

Most hosting providers offer domain registration as well. The hard thing is deciding upon a suitable domain name that somebody hasn't already got. Just about every word in the dictionary plus names etc. is already registered as a .com.
Also you need to decide if you want a .co.uk, or a .com, or both to prevent others getting one of them.
www.domaintools.com have quite a good search facility which shows you what is available given a few key words and criteria. Look at their Buy Domains, Domain Search, Advanced Search options. Doesn't show .co.uk availability, but gives you an idea what is generally available. You can also search for a specific .co.uk domain from their homepage.
Personally I'd avoid any hyphenation and just string a couple of words together or make up a new word. You want something that is easy to say and understand - and ideally has some relevance to your business!

Just to add, also one that is not easy to spell wrongly, so avoid ie /ei, double ss or plurals if possible
