Have a look at Serif offerings, they have a free, older, version so you could start there

Or try, free, Net Objects Fusion again it is older version

Personally I'd avoid something like MS Office - it's renown for creating bloatware.
Either way, you'd need hosting and a means of publishing or uploading your creation.
Another way is to look at free site builders such as Google Sites. GF could maintain something created with that, without having to worry too much about the intricacies of html and ftp, or needing anything more than a web browser to create it.

Publisher and word tend to be ok for site creating, as long as you name it .html it should be fine then all you gotta do is upload via ftp.

https://www.yola.com is very easy to use and the basic package is free (for 2 years I think)

I did a website earlier this year on yola having never done one before, and found it easy to do

You could create a page on facebook surely? They have all you need and what better way to get the pictures noticed?

I write commercial web sites and know you will get no one visiting a regular web site without marketing. At least on facebook you can start asking friends to share your page.

One I can wholly say is simple, easy with a wonderfully helpful forum. is gpeasy takes 5 mins to uplod and you are up and running.

However, a wordpress.com install used as a cms is easy too and so is facebook but not as much fun.
  • Not quite what you asked, but if you for instance bought a website template, you could use Aptana Studio to edit it for free.

But yeah, wordpress is cool and pretty easy.
