Humax HDR T2 Recording Question.

I've not had the Humax very long and a while ago it confused me by letting me continue to watch a program while recording two others at the same time.

I asked on here and was told that as the program I was watching was on the same mux as one of the recordings it let me continue to watch, just a lucky coincidence. :D

I was looking through the EPG for tonight and saw a new series on BBC HD tonight.

Now Sunday night is quite busy, I record a few things so I wasn't sure if I could record the new series or not. Rather than check I simply pressed record as if there is a conflict this not only tells you but offers alternative showings which saves looking through the EPG.

It didn't do this it just accepted the series record request. I then went to check the scheduled recordings and between 21:00 and 22:00 it shows that it will be recording three programs.

Is this possible because at least two are on the same mux as in the record two and watch one scenario or is the Humax confused and one, or more of the recordings will fail?

I've decided to let it stand and see what happens as two of the programs being recorded are again shown later in the week so won't lose anything.

I just wondered if anyone had come across this before or knows if it will work or not?

    I doubt very much you'll be recording 3 channels on 1 line...

    Well I have all three recordings.

    However, it's not straight forward, the programs in question were;

    The Mentalist - 2 episodes 19: to 20:00 & 20:00 to 21:00 both recorded.
    Once Upon a time 20:00-21:00 recorded
    Planet Earth Live 19:50-21:00 recorded

    I've tried them all and they are all fine.

    The only odd thing is that according to Humax schedule the times are as above but when I look at Once Upon a time it says it was recorded 18:00-19:00 which makes sense as this means there wasn't a conflict but the TV guide and EPG times both agree with the schedule that the program goes out at 20:00.

    Did Once upon a time show at 18:00 on Sunday, it wold certainly explain why it all seemed to work but if so why does the recording schedule on the Humax show all three at the same time?

    If all three recordings were by happy coincidence on the same mux (or 2 on one mux and one on another) it will succesfully record them all, but usually only if the box is in standby as it can then use it's 3rd recording ability (Usually reserved for the instand rewind) as the instant rewind will not be running in standby.
    The box can decode up to 3 muxs at a time from 2 polarity/band inputs. Thus it can see up to 50% of all the available muxs at any one time. A long as your 3 recordings can be found on either of the 2 available muxs, dictated by the first two recording choices, then it's all good.
