late payers being unrealistic

Tell me about it! I had an item end on the 27th April, and they said they can't pay until next friday! Why do people buy things when they don't have any money...
It's beyond me!
Just differing attitudes I suppose. I would not dream of making a BIN purchase without having the funds to pay for it. As a seller I know that a lot of buyers do not share the same principle.0 -
As per Soolins first post, this is why the eBay star system for rating sellers DOES NOT WORK.
Buyers are totally unfair to sellers, and there is nothing the seller can do about it, other than to worry if their selling account might get shut down, should the same thing happen a few times.
No wonder sellers are getting out of eBay in their droves!0 -
Firstly I think if sellers can't handle a tiny bit of an issue then they shouldn't be selling, so I think those sellers are right to give up retail selling as a business. I disagree with the 'in droves' bit though, I only know people joining, not leaving ebay and other online sites. No wonder sellers are getting out of eBay in their droves!
I have more issues with theft when I do a car boot for instance, but I don't storm off in a huff vowing never to bother again. Sometimes though we just need a bit of a moan and a few fellow sellers giving a bit of sympathy.
However, this is obviously going to be my week for issues (and no I'm not giving up all my online selling).
Sold something yesterday and just before I logged out I got a message to say this was very very urgent and must go this morning, she confirmed payment has been made and is clear and also told me how to wrap it (hmmmm).
Got up this monring, have wrapped the item (my way as it is safer) logged in to get address to find no payment at all, nada, nothing, not even an echeque or a fake 'you have been paid' email

You can't have a moan and then disagree with me when I'm agreeing with you, that just doesn't make sense!!0 -

I agree in general but was merely disagreeing with this bitNo wonder sellers are getting out of eBay in their droves!
It is annoying and I do love a good moan, but it hardly means we sellers are leaving ebay in droves.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. OK well my understanding of it, at the very least, is that eBay sellers are less happy with selling on the eBay marketplace than they used to be, since it is so much more stressful now than it used to be.
More and more sellers are having a rant than ever before, it seems, so there must be SOMETHING wrong on eBay, I think.0 -

Ah, stick with me, I've 'always' had a good moan when I'm in the mood
