Yes, the square taps will work ok, it's easier to drill a round hole than a square one, the base of whichever tap you choose will cover itI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

that's good then - felt a bit daft asking if a square peg would fit into a round hole, but don't feel quite as daft now!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

I already have 3 base units (2 of which are broken), 2 basins and 1 tap that is not suitable to use with the vanity unit (it was ordered to go with the vanity unit I ordered from Victoria Plumb, see my other thread!)
Oh no, sounds stressful:( We're going to be redoing our bathroom and I'm being very an#l in my research:o0 -

Just make sure that you don't buy anything from Victoria Plumb - the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have to cancel a delivery from them next week (3rd base unit after 1st 2 were damaged and they sent a basin instead of a base unit on 1 occasion!) I also have to try to get them to collect the base units, basin and tap and give me a refund. There's nothing wrong with the tap and I am outside of the 7 day cooling off period so I think they will try to use that to get out of fulfilling their obligations.
I presently have a shower cubicle, shower base, shower, 11 boxes of tiles and 2 big bags of grout in my living and dining rooms and a bathroom that looks like a very bad public toilet. I am getting kitchen doors, cupboards and kickboards delivered next week and I have no idea of where I am going to put them until they are installed!
The worst of it is that I am only having all this done because the installation of the kitchen and bathroom was bodged 7 or 8 years ago leadiing to leaks and damp which we are now trying to eradicate - did I mention that I have an industrial sized dehumidifer in what remains of my bathroom and that the floors have been dug up and the walls stripped back to the bare brick? Also I have no shower or bath and think it will be at least a week before the shower is installed - I must have done something very bad in a former life!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

OMG:eek: I'm sure it will be worth it all when it's done though. You'll have to post some pictures:)
We're going to be ripping all of ours out, stripping layers of tiles and wood panelling off as well, floorboards are coming up to make the plumbing easier and I've also realised we've a suspended ceiling that's going to have to come down due to the hole that will be in it when we take out the old airing cupboard. I have a DH who can't stand any mess for more than a couple of days:eek:0
