Paypoo account limited

  • Assuming OP received the £1900 in one payment it makes sense for Paypal to check, if you spent this much money with a card your bank may block it requiring you to phone up, answer security questions and confirm you authorised the transaction. Checking activity that isn't usual to an account is simply risk management.

Although OP has completed the steps Paypal are either being a bit useless or waiting for a human to review the account. As above a phone call with most likely sort the issue.

It's strange to see Paypal accused of profiting from holding money and then talk of them going under. The reason Paypal hold money is due to risk, their risk, no one else's, so anyone concerned about them going under should be very happy with holds and checks.

If you were able to read that link properly, you would see that they only store data for some merchant services, but not for things like virtual terminal.

Besides, why would they store third party details in compliance with PCI DSS, and not their own users? They can't do one without the other

As the old saying goes, those that understand need no explanation, those that don't understand, no explanation is possible...

i read it fine, i explained it to you,if you don't understand it still then i simply don't have the time to educate you.

why would paypal process third party information differently to that of their standad users?

because they cant operate as a payment processor for businesses without complying with pci dss but in the case of non business customers who freely offer up their personal infromation there is no statotory requiremnt to handle the data responsibly, so paypal, being the irrisponsible company they are just don't bother.

your details are floating around all ove rthe world, not in one country but in several countries, that doesnt comply with pci dss and thats a fact, if you still wanna argue, please refer to my sig......:p

Without wishing to get in the way of a good cat fight that doesn't make sense. Why would they differentiate with holding information from one type of customer to another, they will store it all in the same place and in the same manner. I can understand people having their gripes against Paypal but you appear to be inventing things that they could do because there is nothing stopping them, yet there has been no evidence of them ever having done so.
You'll probably be better off sticking to accusing them of things they have done rather than things they could do if they wanted.

If we started worrying about possible misdemeanours that public or private bodies may do we'll never get anything done. With MP's expenses, media hacking, banks illegally charging, NHS records being lost, MI5 laptops left on trains, you should have enough to be getting on with...

I sent the £1900 from my account (to Ladbrokes), they didn't need to check that?

Now receiving that £1900 back from Ladbrokes, it's suddenly a super security risk?

(Fortunately the rest of the money went to my bank, it's safely there in my balance.)

With my actual bank I could call them now and resolve it. Paypal however are closed.

Perhaps £1900 being sent to one place and then back again was potentially viewed as money laundering, whatever the reason your activities were viewed as high risk.
