Will it annoy the f**k out of you when Manchester City win the title and not Manchester United as they both come from Manchester and have many more similarities - ie they both have football grounds, both are football teams, both consist of 11 players, both belong to the same league, and both have foreign managers.

Yes! But the footie hasn't cost me many thousands in lost capital and dividend payments.poppasmurf_bewdley wrote: »Will it annoy the f**k out of you when Manchester City win the title and not Manchester United as they both come from Manchester and have many more similarities - ie they both have football grounds, both are football teams, both consist of 11 players, both belong to the same league, and both have foreign managers.

Went into Halifax today to ask if the lending restrictions on my account would affect my Lloyds TSB accounts specifically related to mortgages.
They told me that they cannot see the mortgage system in branch and I'd have to apply to find out. They did tell me that I was not eligible for a credit card, loan or overdaft with them. I was quite polite with her, but got the impression she was a bit snotty.
I then asked if Lloyds TSB could see my Halifax account restrictions and she said yes and that they can do an "Address Search" and it would bring up all my Lloyds TSB accounts. Needless to say I was not impressed by that.
Asked if I closed my halifax accounts would any old accounts with halifax still affect my lloyds tsb accounts and she hesitated for a few seconds and said they could still see my accounts.
Needless to say, I've now ended my relationship with The Halifax today having closed down a couple of websavers and a reward account. Yes, I'll lose a fiver a month, but want my Lloyds TSB accounts to not be affected by old Halifax data.
I really hope that old data is deleted or not migrated across at anytime now or in the future between Halifax and Lloyds as in a few years time I want to apply for a mortgage with Lloyds TSB.
Guess time will tell.0 -
In fairness utilising cross-brand data for lending decisions makes a good deal of sense. Not just for Lloyds/Halifax, but for the customer also. A good history with Lloyds could be taken into account when applying for a Halifax product which is better than the Lloyds equivalent, and vice versa.
The flipside of that of course is that any negative history would carry over too. That however still makes a great deal of sense to me; if someone is bouncing items on their current account with Halifax it makes perfect sense that they should not be given unrestricted lending with Lloyds TSB as if they were brand new to the group.
Of course neither you nor I work for Lloyds' credit risk team, so I am just speculating here.urs sinserly,

The systems will be indirectly connected a la RBS style.
The HBOS/LTSB debate is getting tiresome as both individual banks needed bailed out; so both share prices would have went down the cr*pper in any case.
The closest to an integrated product range is BOS with Lloyds style products under its main brand and Halifax range under that brand. Each is available via each brands website.MoneySaverLog wrote: »Went into Halifax today to ask if the lending restrictions on my account would affect my Lloyds TSB accounts specifically related to mortgages.

Guess time will tell. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
you may get more interest over the year with lloyds than halifax but that is only if you leave the money in the account.and to get £150 you need the max £5000. with halifax you can spend most of it. you just have to pay in £1000 P.M.0

Had a thought today...
Old agreements predated the Lloyds Group takeover so there would be nothing in the old closed accounts terms and conditions to allow the sharing of data across the groups now as when the agreements finished the new group did not exist.
To share data that was per-merger of closed accounts has got to be breaking the original T&Cs and no doubt the Data Protection Act too.0 -
Existing accounts have all had new terms and conditions issued sice the merger.MoneySaverLog wrote: »Had a thought today...

Old closed accounts will have included a condition relating to "associated companies" or the like.0 -
Think I might SAR them to check. Also if Associated companies was used then surely that would relate to companies in existence at the time and not new or future mergers after an agreement had ended.0
