Hi there, we moved into a house last April 11 had sky installed. We moved out on Feb 29 my husband called sky to cancel and was told we were in contract till 16th April (fair enough) so we cancelled all extras advised our moving date and asked for it to be cancelled altogether on the 16th April 12. No problem thy say so we pay two more DD but then 1st May they take more money. Husband calls them to ask for refund to be told you can only cancel within 31 days not sooner. Example we gave 80+ days notice but that's to long? 1stly we were not told this when we called in Feb or we would have just called again and 2nd why? Ive looked on thir website and it only states you have to give a min of 31 days it doesn't say it's also the maximum? We have been told to email our complaint which we have and get an instant reply saying they will contact us with 24h but 5 days & 3 emails later still no response? Any help appreciated.

maximum cancellation is 40 days but people are advised 31 days - that's the maximum what were told to accept when I worked with Sky, you should have been advised when you could have cancelled, but they aren't the best at advising, especially when it comes to cancelling

So where do we stand, they know from their notes we asked to cancel, they have admitted that and it doesn't say anything in there T&Cs about this so how can thy enforce it?

although you gave loads of notice, they ask for minimum 31 days and maximum40 days so they will use that as a get out clause, the 40 days notice is notwidely advertised, only know that as I worked for cancellations, your best betwould be to email your complaint. But they may stand by the 31 days notice period, I know from my own experience that people attempted to cancel a couple of months before due, I always advised them to call back maximum 40 days and provided a date for them to call but not all advisors in cancellations do this

Try escalating and complaining via sending an email to Jeremy Darroch, BSKYBChief Executive, at jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com.

He was not advised to do this and based on the fact we were moving we were not cancelling to go to another provider we no longer had a need for sky or any provider at all I really think this shows a lack of common sense from sky?

Email crsupport@bskyb.com and copy in jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com. I got an overcharge refunded next day using this method after wasting hours arguing on the phone.
