Wireless printer that saves on ink

Here is the April list of printers supportinting Airprint, correct me if I'm wrong but I only see the HP5510 on the list? http://ipod.about.com/od/usingios4/f/Airprint-Compatible-Printers.htm
If it ain't on the list, then you may be asking for hassle................0 -
A Canon MG5350 like I bought recently ticks all the above boxes and does work with Apple stuff over WiFi. Has a 5 cartridge system that is the most economical type.
Typical price when I bought was £130 with £30 cashback, by coincidence the cheque arrived this morning. Once the cashback offer ends, I suspect that there will be discounts to take it below £130.
Scanning can also be done wirelessly. Cheap chipped cartridges to be had too, just not sure how good.0 -
PS you could try fingerprint from collobos http://www.collobos.com/0

Got a Canon Pixma recently as advised it would be cheaper for ink than my old Dell - it is but I keep having problems with the heads & think it is about to give up the ghost.
So, cheaper but not very robust.0 -
I have a MG5350 too, over the moon with it. ... I invested in a CISS ... airprint only worked after a firmware upgrade...
Airprint working with current MG5350 for sure. Not many print options like Duplex/Fast/Tray selection though.
My last Canon was encountering blockage issues too, Didn't stop me buying a new Canon one. I think this is a risk of any printer where the print heads are never replaced only the tanks are. The ink dries out if printer little used and blocks. Maybe ersatz ink makes this worse.0 -
Kodak are moving out of camera's and focussing on printer division so you would be safe.
I would get the HP because there ePrint system is probably better developed than others and seem to have better compatibility with tablets ( Apple and Android apps).
I recently got their basic ePrint model the A3050 - does not do duplex which is a pain and colour cartridge is single variety but immediately links to tablets including iPad, has a good web interface which communicates directly with the printer , can scan to pc or tablet and you can set up controlled email address and literally send email to your printer. Was just £37 and I saw it last week in John Lewis for £34. I think the model you mention above has individual inks so would be good option, albeit HP inks do tend to be dearer but they are good.
For photos also look at store or online printing as between ink costs and photo quality paper they can be cheaper and convenient.0 -
Kodaks may be "cheaper" using original inks but other makes often have compatible inks available that IME work just fine and make such comparisons pointless.
Cannon get my vote. recently replaced one (end of life) with an Epson MFD that isn't as good as the old one despite being 5 years newer. Slower/less print functionality.
Brother had Kodak which he took back because it was"dreadful"."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Also type CISS into your favourite search engine - this can save a mint in inks if you are a volume user.0

With the HP printer model I mentioned earlier there are not so great reviews for it especially this alignment issues.
The Canon is quite new but I feel it is a safe choice although I heard that if I don't use it that often the ink tends to "dry". Dunno if that's true.
The Kodak I'm routing for is the high mid-end Hero 5.1 which I thought is also a safe choice because of low ink consumption, cheap ink cartridges, AirPrint & Google Cloud Print enabled and good reviews online.0 -
i bought an hp5510 a few weeks ago and so far very impressed with it. ink is fairly cheap too (cheaper than my old canon printer)0
