Well, i hope this makes you all laugh.................yesterday evening, i used 2 of the lovely new dinner plates, never said a word to hub that they had even arrived, id washed and put them all away before he got home from work, i dished up dinner, put it on the table, we sat and ate.........i was waiting for him to say something........i normally use the Bridgewater polka dot plates......so the Portmeirion are very different...........anyway he ate his dinner..........never said a word.........then we cleared up, he washed up, still never said a word, honestly i just cannot believe he didnt notice, ill see if same happens tonight, will give him a different plate, maybe a brighter flower lol............

p.s agree with Jennifer-jane, love that they are made in the UK,

Don't usually post much but just had to log in to say many thanks to the OP - I took the plunge and ordered 4 pasta bowls and 4 of the smaller plates in the lilac design and they arrived this morning, incredibly well packed (so much bubble wrap!)and so lovely that I really can't tell why they are seconds.

The only "defects" that I can find are that the base stamp on a couple of the plates is a bit faded and one plate has a couple of very small black lines on the base, but other than that I can't see what is wrong with them - they are stunning! The actual design part of the plates is perfect.

The only problem is - I can see that I might be adding to my collection soon!

I bought alot of the 10 inch plates and pasta bowls and 8 inch plates to use for Christmas etc as could never afford them before. They arrived today and I am that thrilled I thought for the money I will order another set to use everyday....as now my everyday plates look shabby...same as other people couldnt see any defects whatsoever and I bought quite a lot.

The stock is running out and the sale is off tommorrow...so if you are thinking of reordering nows the time:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:beer:

Brilliant find I've always wanted these plates but they're to much for me. These will make a lovely change to Matalan plates. :T

Kept looking at this thread and putting it off...and finally spent £100 on plates for me and gifts for family! Can finally bin the horrible plates from tesco we always use! Does anyone know if portmeiron are dishwasher safe??
