Barclaycard state that they have no information of my Morgan Stanley Credit Card as it was closed in August 2007. I assume this to be correct but please let me know if just a fob off?!?!?
They have suggested that request the documentation from the creditor to whom Morgan Stanley transferred my account. Any idea?
well, i had to go to ombusman with my case!... still waiting investigation, but in hope!

I have also been told by Barclays that because my credit card with Morgan Stanley was cancelled in 2006 they (Barclays) cannot help me with a claim for mis-sold PPI?
I have an account number and Barclays have confirmed to me in writing that I had a credit card with MS but they (Barclays) have no records to find out if PPI was included or not?..once I closed the account with MS (paid off) I took great delight in burning all my old statements - cathartic process! PPI was made mandatory to taking out a MS card - Barclays are saying because I cannot provide a copy of a MS statement they cannot compensate me for mis-sold PPI?
I find it hard to believe that when Barclays bought the MS 'book' they did not recieve all files of all customers? PPI was systemically mis-sold to millions of customers - and ex MS customers are being doubly badly treated!! - it sucks!
Does anyone out there know how to obtain copies of old credit card statements?...is there like a national agency that keeps these records?...and PLEASE do not suggest Experian or Equifax!! If you have ever dealt with either you will know they are a bunch of losers that have no mandate over the banks so the data they hold on all of us is unreliable at best and they charge you for it....very angry face!...heads the banks win...tails we lose!!0 -

I'm confused. MS mis-sold you PPI, so you say, and some time after you closed the account MS sold their book of business to Barclays. The only accounts that would have been transferred were the live ones at the time.
What has any of this got to do with Barclays? It's hardly their fault is it?
It's like your expecting to be able to complain to Nanjing Automobile Corporation (the new Chinese owners of the MG car name) because you were unhappy with the sale of your 1985 MG Metro.0 -
Hi all, this may help. I too have an old Goldfish account that was closed a number of years ago. I just spoke with Barclaycard and he advised me they only have LIVE Goldfish card details on their system. I was advised to go in branch as they hold ALL information, even closed accounts from when they took it over. Fingers crossed and I will let you know. :beer:0

An update on this claim :
I recieved the original letter back from Barclaycard saying they had no record of my policy. They could see my account number but no a PPI account number. After a phone call, i explained i was looking at the statements which had the PPI coming out of the account, and the very helpful person suggested i scan all documents i had and send them in.
Had a letter stating they had been sent to a relevant department to be looked at, but heard nothing again for weeks and weeks.
Phoned again to chack on claim status and again, a very helpful person said there were notes on my file that showed the PPI, but somehow, somebody had 'accidently' closed the claim.
He assured me it would be opened again, and after hearing nothing again for weeks and weeks, i suddenly had a letter yesterday upholding my claim.
£3080 to be paid back to me.
Has been a right old struggle, but at east it has come to an end.
My advice, keep in regular contact with companies during a claim.

Hi,
I had two previous Morgan Stanley cards. Both are paid off and were done so before the barclays buy out.
I'm trying to find out if they were charging me for ppi.
I wouldn't have agreed nor asked for this as I've never been unemployed.
The problem I have is that barclays aren't at all helpful with their answers.
How can i find this information out please?

You send a SAR and £10 but they may have destroyed old records so there may be no info left.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Hi.
I recently came across an old credit card statement from Morgan Stanley and following a discussion with Barlcays it seems that they only hold records from 2011 onwards, but did provide me with a follow address and phone number.
I called the number but the girl on the end just advised me to write to them at the address that Barclays told me:
Morgan Stanley
25 Cabot Square
Canary Wharf
Londaon
E14 4QA
Incidentally i phoned the CPP helpline and the adviosr told me that I had protection with them on my Morgan Stanley card, but that they (CPP) will only make payments dating back to 2005 and my last payment to them was in 2004. She was kind enough to provide me details of when I held the account and also advised me to write direct to Morgan Stanley.
