Number Transfer
I appreciate i have another thread active at the moment but this is different,,,
I have a contract at the moment but as circumstances have changed since lost my job it is no longer suitable for my needs ie usage has dropped and the cost because of this i would benefit from a cheaper contract .....
I have not asked for the contract to end or be reduced but asked if i could transfer my number to a new deal and put my wifes number on my existing contract ....the company has said it is not possible and i can only do it at the end of the contract ...I cannot change my number as it is linked to my CV and job agencies let alone all my other contacts.... can they do this .....

If you mean transfer your Wife's number to your existing contract and you then take out a new cheaper contract with your number, this would not be possible, each contract has its own terms, expiry date and allowance of minutes and texts.
You cant go swapping contract numbers around, the numbers are committed to the contract until it expires and then cancelled or cancelled paying an early termination charge.0 -
You can't port a number AND leave the acc open. The act of moving the number closes the acc, that's the way the system is programmed for all networks.
So, yes, they are correct, sorry.0 -
