im on a monthly bill of £46 a month (over £500 a year). its not metered. for one i feel this is too high for a single person.

due to issues with the flat i cant have a meter.

also to add its 2 bedroom flat although i am and always have been the only tennant for the last 3 years.

im with bristol water (a wessex water company)

ok now for my questions.
1. can i get a discount on the surface water and sewerage charges because its a flat all the piping is being shared with other tennants.
2. i believe they rated my bill due to the fact that its a 2 bedroom property. although im a sole tennant. can i request a re-assessment.
3. currently on benefits due to illness are there any non meter related discounts i can get.

£45 a month is 25% of my benefits. £1.50 a day.... my food bill is less then a £1 a day. and i still cant budget everything.

any advice would be great

Firstly you must apply for a meter. If indeed a meter cannot be fitted you will get an assessed rate. Most offer a single person rate which will be low.

You can find what the assessed rate is by ringing 0845 600 3 600.

The rest of your questions are acedemic, but you cannot get a surface water drainage rebate because you are a flat(unless water goes to a soakaway - when no flat will pay SWD)

The price is not 'too high for a single person', because it is not based on a single person. It is based on the RV of your property, which is fixed and cannot be challenged. If there were ten people living in the property, the bill would be exactly the same.
As above, get yourself onto assessed billing ASAP.
