Someone was bound to. You forget this forum is for insurance issues, not sermons!
It doesn't help the OP at all does it? (Or the child (who cannot personally sue the council) - any parent would (should) want to help)
Yes and any tax payer should shake their heads in despair at another customer for the ambulance chasers.
Seems first thoughts are to claim compensation, I would have thought first thing any parent would do is contact council to prevent further accidents, but hey litigation first is order of day now.0 -

Whenever councils/nhs/any public body are in the wrong and get fined/pay out compensation etc it is always at the cost of the tax payer.
Doesn't mean the victim loses the right to make a claim just because the rest of us actually pay! (And it's the same for any insurance claim isn't it - who really pays??)0 -

You must have the only council in the uk that fills in pot holes if you ring them up. Oddly enough, most of the others need to pay out first, before they take any notice.0 -

Not what I was saying. Just that OP thought of compensation before getting it fixed. Agree councils are crap but our compensation culture means now that people seem to now absolve themself of any responsibility and want someone to blame for everything.
I do report potholes, etc to council via Fixmystreet.com and they probably sort around 50% of them fairly quickly but far from good enough. How many people saw (and probably moaned about) the condition of carpark but did not bother reporting it, no doubt assuming someone else would. Not saying it would have been fixed or that OP's son would not still have had accident but everybody needs to take a bit more responsibility for their environments including reporting faults.0 -
I wonder what the kid was doing in the car park?I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -

So not trespassing, not on private property, just on publicly owned property where any member of the public is entitled to be then, and where the council has a duty of care over them? Sounds a fair claim to me then.0 -
When will people start taking responsibility for their own actions?I also fail to see how money will compensate for a broken arm,but hey ho,that's the pathetic world we live in!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0

One of my school pals broke a leg and was on crutches.
Another friend and I were given charge to help her round the school.
Going down one of the stair wells, I remember distinctly she lost her balance, fell down the stairs and broke her other leg. I dont ever remember seeing her again back at school, this was about 50 years ago and I even remember her name.
Litigation wasn't even thought of in those days.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

That's civilisation for you. Now we are forced to look after each other. Gone are the old days when you could just push them out of the cave on a freezing night.0
