The letter said I was placed straight into the support group and my husband rang them to request to pre board and he also asked how long I was awarded as it isnt clear on the letter how long.

    What does pre board mean?

I am still waiting for written confirmation after being told over the phone but I wont be convinced until I have that. I would like to know how long I will have before re-assessment too, I don't understand why they dont put it in the award letter, I don't trust just being told over the phone.
    Thanx

Tehy sometime send an ESA85 (?) to your GP before deciding if you have to have a face to face medical.

The award letter isnt claear on how long you are awarded ESA, my husband rang them to find out on my behalf as Im deaf on top of my other disabilities.

    Thanks

I will just have to hope the letter arrives soon, it was 2 weeks ago that I was told over the phone, they said it still had to be processed though. Everything is such a worry though waiting and wondering if it will go through properly
    Thanx

Hubby's ESA award says indefinite. Hopefully that means he will never have to face one of those awful assesment centres!

As for time taken to make a decision, we sent off the questionnaire and we heard back with his award notice about 6 weeks later. And we were late sending the form in!

You cant get an indefinate ESA award, the longest is three years.

I wonder if they are referring to the Support Group, in that it is not time limited according to income? I agree with you though, and even if it was indefinite all that really means is that the next assessment date is undefined. ;)

The phone call is just to confirm your details and tell you that the dreaded ESA 50 form will come in the next two weeks following which you have four weeks to complete it. I would suggest a visit to your GP to make sure that they are aware of the problems that she has. It is a very anxious time I know as going through it myself but try not to worry too much.
