Hermes Rant

I ordered a parcel from ASOS, and Hermes have lost it. It says online it was "delivered to a secure place", but there was no card through the door to say where it was. I checked everywhere, but there is hardly anything on our driveway so there is nowhere to leave anything without actually leaving it on the drive, which is only small and open so it would probably be nicked. Our house is a terrace and there is only a small wall between our driveways. ASOS emailed the Hermes courier who said it was left over the side gate. What side gate! Do they make these things up? I know they don't get paid much, but it's caused quite a bit of stress. ASOS have very kindly said I can have a refund but I feel really bad for them.
It was the first thing I have treated myself to since getting a job and coming off JSA, and now I wonder if someone is sat in their front room enjoying my purchases or busy putting them on ebay (it was some shoes, two different sizes as I wasn't sure which I would need).
Boooo!

Used Hermes once and they 'securely delivered' a pair of shoes... who knows where to, unfortunately. Luckily John Lewis sent the shoes out again and they actually arrived second time round.0

It's important to remember that the couriers aren't paid much because companies like ASOS choose to use cheap companies.
Also in no sense is it kind of ASOS to provide a refund. You paid them to provide you with shoes. They failed to do so. That they outsourced part of the process to another company, Hermes, is none of your concern.0 -
I sent a parcel via Hermes and they lost that. They ended up having to replace the item which was secondhand with a new one as they believed it had been stolen by one of their staff.0

Thanks Thumbremote, because I am an idiot I totally feel like this is my fault, and that ASOS will accuse me of lying. In fact I suppose I should feel angry about this that ASOS use a cheap courier in the first place, and that whoever the courier is they've either lost or stolen my stuff. Also this means I don't want to order from them again, and they're great for buying things when they have a big discount code.0

It's really hit and miss who ASOS use tbh, I've had stuff from pretty much every parcel company going when I buy from them! Made an order yesterday and they sent half of it DPD and half Interlink. Makes no sense at all.0

As a previous poster says, you're covered under DSR that they have got to be able to prove delivery. Call them up and tell them you haven't received your items, no ifs and no buts.
I've had this with 2 different courier companies. One put a very expensive dress in the bin (safe place), which was nicked, the other said online tracking it had been delivered (just not to me). On both occasions replacements were sent. Now the catalogue that I shop from most often will only use RM as I've had no problems with them.
My last address the couriers who worked for these firms was ace and can't praise them enough. The one's who work this area I'm in now leave a lot to be desired tbh.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
So it is not only me that is having a **** experience with this company! I ordered from Asda direct on tues, and it got scanned to say it was coming yesterday, but infact they scanned the wrong item (tracking info said it had been delievered to a shed?) and now my item is missing somewhere in the warehouse . Rang asda who say that hermes have asked till give them till the 9th as its a bank holiday weekend and if it can't be located they will refund. I am so cheesed off as i have waited in and it is stuff for my kids:( asda are refunding me my delivery costs (how very big of them(!)) So peed off atm:(Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0

I spoke to a friend this evening about the ASOS saga and he said he'd had two massive parcels of ASOS stuff go missing supposedly delivered by Hermes! One completely vanished, the second was returned to ASOS HQ eventually who sent him an email to say if he wanted to return the goods he had to fill in the returns form. He wasn't sure but it sounded as though they'd been opened and just sent back. What to do about ordering stuff in future?
Sorry Raven to hear about your experiences!! It doesn't half cause a lot of stress.0 -
I had a £170 watch from Next go missing from Hermes too. They allegedly delivered it to me at my place of work, the 'signature' they obtained was a squiggle, and they 'forgot' to take the name of the person signing, and couldn't remember what they look like.
Thankfully Next refunded the cost but it took weeks to sort and I'm livid at the thought of the courier's missus wearing my new watch!0 -
I don't believe it - ASOS gave me a refund and I managed to order my shoes off an American website as they're now sold out everywhere, and Hermes delivered my missing parcel this morning! The rotten woman had said she had already delivered it over a 'side gate' that doesn't exist. Now I have to faff around going to the post office with the box (why do they box up shoes in an ASOS box that is the size of a Nissan Micra) to send it back. The box did look like a dog had been sleeping on it. Unfortunately I didn't open the door otherwise I would have asked her why she hadn't delivered it properly the first time.
BAAAAAAAAAAH!!!0
