car being Keyed!!!!

My daughter has got home and told me that when she got to work about 7 she noticed that here car had been keyed all along the side and a big circle on her bonnet, she has a MG , and she saved hard to get this, she parked it in a town carpark last eveing while she went out and then drove home about 11.30 and didnt notice anything , parked outside our house and again this moring she did noticed anything until she got to work.
I feel so sorry for her as it is her pride and joy, she has been to the police station and they said there was nothing they could do and gave her a number, I know they cant do much , but it is so di hearting for her.
If I could find out who it was, well you could guess they rest.

My wifes got done last year,bas####s.I have just seen an ad for a JML scratch remover but i don't know if it works.

'Nothing they can do' seems to be a standard response from the police these days, I had mine done a couple of years back,the building opposite had CCTV that pointed down the street and would have covered where my car was parked, they couldn't be @rsed to check the footage.

Someone drove into my parked car and dinted the front wing once. I was parked on a road behind a pub that had just been refurbished and had new CCTV all around the building. Including a camera where my car was. Police couldn't be bothered. All they did was gave me a crime number.

I've also had my car keyed a dozen times. I just don't worry about it now and only drive old cars.

i got the same 'nothing we can do' response when some scumbag crashed into my car on new years eve and wrote it off they wouldnt even check the CCTV camera on the junction 30m up the road even though i had a witness who could tell me approximate time, style of car and colour but unfortunately couldnt get the number plate only thing i was thankful of was that they crashed into the back passenger side and wiped out the damage that was already on the back wheel arch due to 2 other instances where it had been scraped on a car park and they drove off.

she might be best to get a quote to have the work done privately and work out if its going to be cheaper than going through the insurance x

also forgot to say my grandads got done about 7 years ago, the little bas***ds dragged a key down every car on the whole street. think it cost him about £700 as every panel on that side had to be resprayed.

My car has been subjected to damage a number of times, I feel your pain.

I think I have an idea who is doing mine, someone locally, it's catching them is the problem.

You'll find that when someone else sees you have a better looking car than yours then get jealous and decide to "Deface" it, to make themselves feel better.

I noticed it since I changed cars, my car is spotless, and I've seen some new cars that look like sheds, people get an urge and hate it.

Luckily, I know someone in the accident repair centre trade who has repaired my damage twice for a good price so I've not claimed on insurance.

Also had my tyre stabbed two years back!

More and more I see the necessity in installing a permanent colour video recording device with multiple cameras and a huge hard disk. If near enough to your house, perhaps the data feed could be transmitted over wi-fi to your more easily powered home PC ?

And some absolutely useless police officers, give them some real work to do and they can't be @rsed, but when it comes to traffic offences or section 5 public order (which they don't need to gather any evidence for to get a conviction) then they're happy
