Orange contract nightmare
Hi
I'm looking for advice please. I took out a 24 month contract with Orange about 18 months ago. I was very happy with it, until my phone started having terrible reception at home. I have since discovered that Orange has removed their mast from our local area (very rural), and there is no T mobile coverage here either.
They did not inform us of this and apparently it happened in february!!
I went to Carphone Warehouse and the asst manager there rang them on my behalf last Friday, she was passed from one dept to another for about an hour, they said they'd look at the issue and either cancel my contract or switch the mast back on. Now we're almost a week later and they still won't give me an answer, she tried again on Monday for me , they said they'd definitely give me an answer by Tuesday...still waiting.
This is a nightmare as I'm paying about £40 a month for a phone I can't use at home (I work from home so am here most of the time!!).
Any advice of where to go next ? I need to keep the number I have , so need a code from Orange to be able to keep it with a new provider.
all help / advice welcome!!
thanks in advance.

short term fix
call forwarding to your home number?
no signal is guaranteed in the house,so you may struggle on his.
Though Oranges direct action causing it could be grounds.0 -
For some handsets Orang offer UMA that works at home via a router:

However, if they did switch the mast off it is easier to cancel the contract and you are in a position to demand cancellation.0
