Carphone Warehouse Cashback

When I got my phone from the Carphone Warehouse I was told there was a cashback offer on it - a very generous one at that. I was to get about £200 after 12 months.

My 12 months expired end January, but checking the website my phone isn't on it. It was a Nokia 6610 with orange.

Should I still submit a claim?

On their website will be the t & c regarding their particular cashback deals.

Shouldn't you have already claimed over a certain amount of months?

by the sounds of it you should have checked what the terms of the cashback agreement were about 14 months ago when you got the contract, the terms should have been provided when it was delivered.

Going on the generic terms on the majority of their cashback deals I'd hazard a guess you forfeited the cashback sometime around May or July last year

I was told it was one claim, done at 12 months with 12th bill which came in on January. I queried at the time because got cheques back no problem for two other phones for my daughters (had to make two claims for one and three for the other)

unless you can find the original documentation you'l find that CPW will likely just take the line that you didn't follow the agreement. As it stands they probably have a better position as they can provide evidence of the type of deals they offer and the conditions attached. You only have your word that it was "one claim, after 12 months". It's unlikely to have been open-ended hence how they make money on these deals. Have you got the original invoice and paperwork/emails from the deal?

It great to see companies like CPW have services like this. They make their T&Cs so easy for people to follow and people can easily go back to dates to see what their T&Cs were in their contract in the past. How any other companies do you know that offer this kind of service? Answer: no one.

i suspect you have probably missed months 4 and 8 cashbacks (unless this was an upgrade) and as such you may probably still claim month 12.

I'd say you unfortunately have lost out.

I've just taken on a Carphone Warehouse cashback with "supposedly" 2 lots of automatic cashback, I thought the idea was for you to forget to claim and make them more money not make it automatic so they always pay out.
Good of them if it works.

I would ask them to confirm this in writing to you (ie the terms of your contract with them) ideally if they wont send anything in paperwork form then email customer services and let them respond with an email so you have something if later on they deny anything about the deal.
