    Hi all

Well, the day has arrived for my home visit from ATOS...i'm panicking already to be honest, so have no idea how much sense i will make by 5pm when he arrives:o

Have been trying to get hold of a dictaphone to record the meeting without success, so will try to use my old phone and see if it picks it up!

    Wish me luck:T

Good luck. Sorry I can't offer any advice, but I think recording it is a good idea.

Oh good luck, we've just had to do the ESA renewal forms so I expect a medical appointment will follow soon.

DH has a meeting this week with employers so hoping to find out more about the PHI issue but they have mentioned "lump sum" figures so assume the PHI provider is trying to do a buy out of scheme. Not helpful but don't have the full facts and figures yet.

Hi Pooky - hope DH's meeting goes well and that any offer made is a good one...could he refuse if the offer was not that great?

1 hour 45 mins to go!!:(

Really don't know if he can turn it down or not, as far as I know the policy is between employer and insurer so I suppose they can ultimately do what they like.....will see what's said later in the week.

    How'd it go this afternoon?

Hi when the insurance pays you direct Iam pretty sure you no longer pay tax on the money.

I had an email from the insureres saying that tax will be deducted. Also i was due to be paid today...well i think so...my usual payday with my now ex-employer was today, but i have heard nothing from the insurance company, no correspondance at all. I have sent an eamil today stressing that i have direct debits for my mortgage etc due out tomorrow, but only got an 'out of office' reply from my contact there.
Will try and phone him tomorrow i think!:(

It went ok i think, the dr seemed nice if a bit abrupt. Took blood pressure and listened to heart, got me to try to lift arms/legs and walk up the stairs (with my mum's help) then had a look round the house and was suggesting things like frame to go around the toilet, bed rail (?), extra rails in bathroom and on other side of stairs to bannister, so i guess it was quite positive.
My attempt to record the assessment failed, i pressed record then tried to hide the phone and in doing so must have accidentally pressed stop :(
The dr said i could phone DWP and ask for a copy of the report, but when i phoned i was told that i would only be sent a copy after any decision had been made, so i guess i am playing the waiting game again...

Have today received decision re my appeal... a NO!

In the report from the dr that came to see me at home, he states that i rose and walked unaided (a lie, my mum helped) and that i should usually walk 250m without help or pain. I can't even walk to the end of the road, and every step i take causes severe pain!
So infuriating, what can i do now? I can't prove that i am in pain!
Also it staes that i drive sometimes and therefore i should be able to walk ok. I had to change my car to an automatic as the pain on my left side (especially leg) is so bad. Nothing to do with walking!!

    Anyone got any ideas??

Really sorry to hear that. I am slightly confused as I thought that contributions based ESA only lasted a year anyway unless you are in the Support group, in which case surely your appeal should have succeeded?
