Afternoon All
I went and bought another airer today (On offer in Wilko £12 instead of £16) Didn't need much in Aldi so total shop was £46 including the airer. Not too bad. I am doing the no supermarket challenge this month and so far so good, I know, I know it is only 3 days in, but I have spent half of what I did last week, so it is good for me.
Can't vote because we haven't had our cards through the door :mad: I am going to phone the council in a while because they were closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm. I feel a good rant coming on.
Adelight, sorry to hear that things are going so badly on the house front especially after losing your Nan, but I believe that if something is meant to be, it will happen. Personally, from what you have said, I wouldn't touch this landlord with a ten foot barge pole, he sounds well dodgy to me and I would report him to the local council (After lunch that is)
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

*Hobbles in and puts very large pile of posi-vibes on table* PenPin and Adelight get first dibs, but there's enough there for everyone who needs them.:o
Dogless today, as Lucy went home yesterday afternoon, but Dylan will be coming tomorrow morning.;) Not sure why I bothered putting all the wet-weather clothing away.....:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon All,
Sorry I haven't posted for ages:o but life seems to have taken over somehow. Hope you are all doing ok. Big huggs for PP and Adelight and anyone else who needs one.
Anyway a bit an update, I have managed to get a 0.8 teaching post which is great. Quite a challenge but it's so nice to be earning again and not being so skint. Still trying to be OS though and lots of cooking from scratch.
As you might remember we are planning on a big move to Australia as soon as the house sells. A couple of viewings so far but it's only been up a couple of weeks so fingers crossed.
Also my middle boy has gone over to my brother on Oz to work so that leaves just the three of us (really strange after having four kids at home for so long) our youngest one is feeling a bit lost but spending lots of quality time with us.
My eldest girl was with us when she split up with her partner but she is now settled in her own place with DGS and very happy with the decision she has made:)
Have just finished for four days so a nice long weekend and no tea to cook. DS is at his grans and DH ate early as he plays football on Thursdays. I will just grab a sandwich.
It's been chilly here all day so planning a nice hot bath while they are out and will read my Nicholas Sparks book Safe Harbour which I love.
It's lovely to be back amongst you. I promise to get back to posting regularly, I love being part of your community and have missed you all.
Bye for now J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi,
Spent yesterday in A&E with the rev who has damaged her ligaments in a fall. Fortunately nothing broken so no plaster casts, just a pair of crutches which have been tossed in the back of the car in disgust.:)
After doing nothing much all day and being exhausted, I surprised myself by spending the evening cleaning the kitchen and making great inroads into the chaos in the diningroom.
nmlc: Happy birthday to your DS. My baby is 40 today.....surely that can't be right, I'm not nearly old enough. I got him one of T****'s celebration cakes with a lovely photo of him aged about 8 (I love little boys with gappy smiles). Was devastated to hear that they are stopping offering this service. Typical! It's about the only thing that's good about them.:mad:
PP: Enjoy your jollity - wherever it comes from.
Adelight: Some weeks are like that. Take one thing at a time and do what's in front of you. As you say, you don't have an alternative to coping. Would be tempted to say to your landlord that you think a break is a jolly good idea as of course you will be looking out for something better and more worth the money you are spending. I believe in putting the boot on the other foot.
Eating up leftovers today. Am doing some beef skirt in the SC in preparation for making beef and mushroom pies for the drop-in on Sunday. Also have a load of sausage rolls and other bits and pieces to make under the orders of DGS for his Dad's birthday party on Saturday. Strangely, this party food seems to consist of all the things DGS likes!:D

hello all,
just had a feast of homemade fish cakes and cauli and broc cheese followed by fudge tart. i feel a bit sick now but very full. got the bread maker on timer already for tomorrow and will just put the water on top when i go to bed. all the washing done today and had to resort to the td as im sick of seeing my airer in the lounge.
bathroom and downstairs toilet all done and clean now. hated having the plumber here and love it now that things are all spick and span.
tomorrow im thinking of doing an inside bbq - well not a bbq at all - but hot dogs and some made coleslaw and home made potato or rice salad.
have a good rest of the day everyone:D0 -
Evening all
Wet and miserable hereTotally opposite to yesterday!
Busy day in work, have recruited 11 new work kids so far, fingers crossed for a few more tomorrow.
I have just got off the phone to my parents, they have been left some money by a distant relative and are giving me and my brother £1000 each. They very kindly lent me the money for my new car and I am paying it back monthly, so I've told them to knock it off the balance of what I owe them.
I also got a £15 voucher for Beefeater pubs in post today as a result of me complaining about their shocking service the other week.
OS wise - packed lunch made this morning, unsure on dinner - will either be curry from freezer or something on toast.
Have a good day all
