Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3nd May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hugs to Molly.
to Elona.
Off to work soon, one machine broken, most teachers going mental, some kids lovely some horrible so situation normal.
Hubby's still in bed as he didn't finish 'til 10, but he's not starting 'til lunchtime today, he works in a team of 4 & 2 of them are working their notice so he won't be able to take the holiday he booked as their is no one to cover, I'm hoping he gets Monday off but very much doubt it.
He has Jerk chicken & rice for his packup today, I have tuna sarnies made with Chia bread, I bought it from our local baker, I was told it tastes strange, but to me it tastes like .......bread.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Damp and miserable here again, washing is on the airer, not sure it will get any dryer, but we will see.
Thanks for all your good wishes for dd, she is still poorly, so having today off too, she is either freezing cold or boiling hot, and her throat is raw, bless her.
Sistercas how is your dd ? did it turn out to be shingles ??
Marie, good luck with your T cosy sale, if I was near to you I would buy one, Alzheimers is a horrible disease which takes family members away before their time.
Scampi and chips tonight, the scampi was bogof :T, will have a quick tidy through when I get in from work, and I have Mr T delivering.
Have good days all xxx0 -
Morning :hello:
Redruby, how's your DD?
I was going to stuck in to the garden but it's peeing downI need to get outside though, so I'm going for a walk.
The house feels very relaxed, no-one is stressing about anything and they're all actually tidying up after themselves. The calm after the stormHope it continues.

Wave to hester and dance of joy to see her back.:j
DD sets off for a four day break abroad later this morning and want to cook her a nice brekkie. She is really pleased with the new suitcase that arrived yesterday - perfect size, made by Antler with a seven year guarantee and £15 off in Argos.
DH is looking forward to the yellow stickered rolled and stuffed pork belly later today which we will have with new potatoes and veg. I got half price beef and a pack of lean mince as well which is in the freezer. DH just getting used to the fact that when I am making a real effort to economise we eat better ( his words) and meant as a compliment.
I want to walk down to the weekly market later and get some free range eggs and veg and might also check the library and charity shop.

Good Morning All
Raining here again, so miserable out there.
Have a meeting this morning then think will spend the rest of the day doing housework. Need to go outside to get stuff out of the freezer - will get soaked:o. Will be either cottage pie or meatloaf for dinner.
(((hugs))) wherever needed. x0 -
Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Pouring with rain, windy and generally cold and bleurgh! here this morning. Water is laying everywhere it obviously started some time in the night and looks to be in for the day - nice! DH up and off to work a little bit early but not stupid early, so he brought me a cuppa in bed before he left.
Dinner was pork chops, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, LO cauli/broc cheese, LO yorkshires and gravy, sweet treats out of the tins for anyone that had room - namely the menfolk!
Work was reasonably quiet yesterday, so managed to get everything up to date before finishing at lunchtime, so I'll be up to date when we go back on Tuesday - will be horrendous as we're shut on Monday and everyone then feels the need to visit on Tuesday, as it's always "urgent" by then!
Have the normal list of "to do" jobs over today and tomorrow - but as now been trying to keep up to date with everything not in a too bad position, should have most of the household "to do" list done by the end of today.
Have a birthday in the house today, DS2 is 12 - it certainly wasn't weather like this 12 years ago, it was beautiful spring weather, warm and sunny - we had all the windows open in the hospital! Will be organising a cake later, have a dentist appointment this morning - yuk - needs to be done though.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

morning all.....condolences adelight on your loss....
Happy birthday to your son nmlc....
Well I had a good day out yesterday.went to BeerSheva with a friend and spent the day running errands mixed with a little retail therapy.......
Then we met two other friends and went to the cinema to see "The Hunger Games"..and really enjoyed it....we had all read the 3 books .......Then coffee until 10pm...it dosnt take much to make me happy .we live in such a middle of the nowhere place that it was exciting to see life in the city that late, usually Im on the settee in my pjs at that time.....
Then it was a long drive home and indoors after 11;30....luckerly my friend talked all the way home so it passed quickly......It must be more then two year since i went to the cinema.....
It looks like summer is here..the past 2 nights we have slept with the AC on:eek:
Hugs spoons and good wishes to all.....Happy Thursday.......
ps......I like the youre way of dealing with your husbands blisters HH!!!!!!!0 -

Hugs to all in need.
I hope today is a better day as we've had a run of bad ones and can't take much more. I haven't posted some stuff as it involves my little niece and we have court next month, but its not good and she might live pt here with us.
Im hoping to go to a support meeting this evening so have to rest up fully today to be able to go. It's DD's day off today, so she's asked if I want to watch a film with her, so may just do that.
Breakfast was a cheese and ham with pepper toastie, OJ and a cup of tea. Will have the cheese straws soon and now have to keep a food diary as weight has dropped a lot again. Joys!
OH managed to get some great bargains last night with his mate, so most have been frozen.
We have decided to go ahead and get the work done on the car and have posted about it on the main thread, but won't be getting money from the seller as he owes money to others with court pending on some. We just have to learn from it and move on. We've had a quote of £1300 for all the work but the mechanic has suggested we get the smallest job done first and do a process of elimination just incase all the work doesn't need doing. Luckily a friend that lives about 100 miles away has all the computer stuff for our car and has offered to recheck if we go and spend the weekend with them. It'll be nice as we've not seen them in a year, so kill 2 birds with one stone.
Its raining here again. WM is on and DW has been emptied. Have updated bank accounts and paid the rent/council tax and cleared the 2 credit cards which totalled £44, so not bad. OH has ironing to do later and the bed needs changing today.
Dinner tonight is chops and will post a picture later.
Please send us positive thoughts about everything. Nurses have been in and given me a different pain killer today and has made me feel a little bit jolly...lol.
