Would like to be able to watch a video, (not record) on the TV but cant get pic to come out.

Have put scart lead into AV2 on the video and also the TV. Have put aerial lead into video. TV on, pressed play on the video but nothing happening?

Can anyone help how to watch a video?

Have you tried manually selecting the source on the TV?

    Not all TV's switch automatically.

On my recent TV remotes there's been a button marked Source which brings up a drop down menu showing all connected devices (VCR, DVD, satellite etc)

Older TV remotes have had a button AV/TV or similar. Pressing the button switches between different connections. So if you had Sky & a VCR pressing the button would switch between displaying TV/Sky/VCR/TV and so on.

If you don't alter the input (source) to AV2, then the TV will stay on it'sdefault input, proably it's own internal tuner.
If it still doesn't work, it could be a SCART or SCART connector problem.

I'd be trying AV1 on the video instead of 2. Also try it into AV1 on the TV, as the 1st SCART connector is often better quality (RGB instead of composite).
Aerial lead unnecessary for just watching a vid.
