Leaving Tiscali for SKY - HELP!

Hi guys,

Can someone please try and help me make sense of all this?!

I called Sky who told me that I am on an LLU network, so would have to wait for my disconnection from Tiscali. I called Tiscali to cancel and (I think) the guy told me that I am not on an LLU network and he would send me a MAC code.
I called Sky back again and they said that they would try the MAC code (but they doubt my transition will be seamless).....so I could be without the internet for over a month!

Has anyone had any experience with these two providers? Help.......!

I have just recently registered on the website skyuser.co.uk - it is not an official sky website, and it is extremely informative, many forums from technical help to general chat. I just entered a search of TISCALI into the forums for you and there are some there with similar problem and confusion regarding LLU or not! thought they had a problem but is now connected to sky! HAve a look - I am sure someone there will help you.

Thank you for the reply Tobruk. I called Tiscali again and was told that they are on the LLU network and Sky are not. So basically if I want to go to Sky I would have to wait 30 days to be disconnected from Tiscali and then 15 days to reconnect.

After discussing all this with Tiscali they agreed to upgrade my service at no extra cost so I have decided to stay with them!
