Holiday in Inverness

I am hoping the good people on this board can offer some suggestions to help us sort out a holiday around Fort William , or in the Inverness area. We are wanting to stay somewhere where we can travel out from on day trips, or stay put if we choose. Activity holiday isn't on the cards, I am currently on crutches and although they should be gone I certainly won't be ready for a hike. Although been to few places in Scotland never been here before, overwhelmed now having googled too long! Ayone any recommendations re accommodation. Not heavy drinkers but OH does like a good scotch whisky, and hoping to sample some when the days' driving is done.

Hello mollsnan
I love the highlands of Scotland and watching the spectacular wildlife. Here is a link to a thread in the 'Scotland' board which might give you some ideas:
Planning a hol in Scotland and like wildlife?
Have a lovely holiday.

We've stayed at http://www.lochnessholidays.co.uk/ a couple of times and it's always been nice. Can also recommend the http://www.kitchenrestaurant.co.uk/ in inverness. If you have kids the beach at Nairn is always nice too

Many thanks to all who have taken the time to reply, much appreciated. I should have mentioned that we wont have any children with us, (grown up) would prefer to stay in hotel (a rare and very special treat to ourselves) and desperately need this trip to try and chill out a bit after a really difficult family time.0

Balletshoes, we were planning on 7/8 nights, were thinking maybe split between two different places. We were hoping around 29th June or the following week. We shall be travelling over from Northern Ireland by ferry.0
