    Why do money changers always try to foist the largest possible notes on you? In the days when I use to get ForEx it was a fight to persuade the clerks not to give you notes that were worth a month's wage in the destination country.

    Never had a prob in the USA, naively pulled out a $100 bill in Cambodia (when I was a bit green) and the guy called his family over to have a look. He wouldn't break it, but was amazed nonetheless.

    I since learned the average monthly wage is something like $30. In that respect if the average UK monthly wage is £2000 It's like walking into a shop to buy 4 cans of beer with a £2000 note.
