Using £100 bills in Florida

i have bought some dollars online and i noticed they have sent half of the cash in $100 bills as anyone had any problems using them in the US.

Many customer-facing outlets refuse to acept $100 bills, $50 is the largest they will accept. (By this I mean Theme Parks, Resturants etc). YOu can certainly nip into a bank, say you are on holiday and ask them to change the bill for 5 x $20's, and that's normally done without a problem.

Pretty much like firms in the UK not liking Bank of England £50's - just try it with a £100 note!

I've never had any problems changing hundred dollar bills anywhere in the US including Florida so I guess you're going to find differing opinions on this one.

This is also my experience (although I have never tried paying for a small item, like a cup of coffee with a $100 bill, I would usually only use one when I was paying for something with a higher cost eg $50+).
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

We went a few years back to Florida and didn't have any trouble, so I guess as long as you don't try paying for a coffee or something small then you should be ok.

I've used mine at Disney and for expensive items such as park tickets and not had a problem, but as others have said, if you use them for small items they probably won't like it.

We've had the same experience as most others - never had a problem breaking $100 but have never asked someone to do it for a really small purchase or in a little shop, food stand etc where they are less likely to have a load of cash on hand for change. We generally try & use them in the supermarket or something and nobody has ever commented or refused to give change.

The only places that I have found who wouldn't accept a $100 bill are 7-Eleven stores.
Most of them have a sign stating that a $20 is the largest denonination they will take, although if you are using one that sells fuel and you are prepaying with cash then there isn't usually a problem.

I don't know if the reason for this restriction is due to them being targeted by armed robbers, but I do know that they never keep much money in their tills, and even when you pay with a $20 bill, this sometimes goes straight into a safe that the staff can't open. (they have a slide that allows the money to drop into the safe but can't be used to access the money)

never had a problem either - although, again I would probably have tended to use them against a large-ish bill like a 60-70 dollar restaurant bill, rather than using them for a coffee or an icecream or something.
