3 mobile charging for picture messages

Hi All,

I'm on the Internet Texter 500 plan on 3 mobile and incorporated in that there are 100 'Picture Mails' per month. I presumed these were picture messages but have just discovered I'm being charged 25p a go to send pictures via MMS which has amounted to a fair few quid this last month (I haven't even checked my old bills)

The iPhone has 2 options:

Email photo - this sends via my email so surely this will come out of my data allowance?

Message - sends via MMS for which I now realise I'm being charged.

How am I supposed to send a 'Picture Mail' or are they one and the same and 3 mobile are taking the ****?

Picture Mail is for sending to an email address and not a mobile number (as with MMS).

Basically if you are attaching files to emails sent through the mobile network email service - that they call a special feature and charge for.

I would personally download to PC to email or try to find some app that allows email attachment to be sent using the data allowance.

Thanks OneADay, a bit sneeky from 3 that is, I'd have thought sending anything via email would come out of your data allowance, just like forwarding on a message with a word or excel attachment. Looks like it's deliberately meant to mislead.

I'll use What'sApp from now on to send pics then.
