The weight in the loaf was most likely the same as a normal one.

Having a large air pocket, wouldn't make it lighter, it more than likely means that the bread is denser in other areas, it can happen with all bread, especially handmade ones from the bakery. Bread is supposed to have air holes in it, perhaps not that big, but airholes nevertheless. Look at ciabatta bread for example, full of airholes.

Email them and say you weren't happy with the bread, it spoiled your butties, they will send you vouchers for buying replacement(s) definately

Kingsmill are terrible! I tried their bread so many times but it always tastes 'stale' to me! The texture is dry and crumbly like a stale loaf.

    Warbutons all the way!

You could contact Kingsmill through their Facebook page. I'm sure they would try to help.

there is usually a number to call printed on the package somewhere.
brought a loaf of hovis white, yet when opening it it was best of both (which I dont like) I called the number on the package and they took a few details, and sent me four vouchers for any hovis product. I used them to get my sons the expensive hovis mutligrain loaves.
Took no more than five mins of my time.

edited to add they wanted some details from the package too, like BBD and some codes that was printed in the same box

    UPDATE:

    Thanks for all your replies..

I emailed them and they replied asking for information from the date/batch tag ( which I had already supplied..lol ) and also for my full address.

They thanked me and said they would contact the bakery and make enquiries.

I received a letter today apologising for any inconvenience and 3x £1.00 vouchers to be used on their products.

    That's fair enough, I think :)
