Porting/Migrating Number O2 to O2

Is it possible to port an existing number on O2 to another O2 contract?
The reason I ask is that there are better deals as a new customer with O2 on an iPhone than there is to upgrade. I was therefore thinking of setting up a new contract and moving the existing number into it as we can't really afford to lose it.
Can anyone help?

Not possible to port internally from contract to contract. I don't think any network will allow this. Moving to PAYG then back to contract should solve this.0

As far as I am aware O2 are the only network that allow porting within. This is from experience of porting between O2 Sim only to O2 Sim only.0

Vodafone and Orange also do this (from PAYG to contract)0
