Perry Mcarthy was the old stig that drove the xjs off the end of the aircraft carrier. I believe he might have had to go because he did some damage to duncan Hamiltons D type jag driving it like a hooligan on the test track.
not sure who the new stig is, although the top gear team do make reference to the fact that you never see Stig and Tiff togetherspeed is good0 -
