I have a friend that does it plus various other home working jobs, putting threads through gift cards for bodyshop etc. Its something like £10 per 1000 envelopes or something. She reckons she can makes a decent wage but I think she spends hours doing it. However, I think this is just in the Northamptonshire area.

Did you have to do any coursework when you were training to be a chef? If so if you still have it you can put it on a disc and sell it as a study aid on ebay. This really is a quick and easy way to make money.

I was self employed for a couple of years for Phoenix Trading (greetings card publisher) whereby I sold the products at fetes. school events, through coffee mornings and evening parties etc. I made what I would call "pocket money" and it took a while to recoup the initial outlay but it was enjoyable. However, you only earn a reasonable income if you recruit others and build your own team so I gave it up as I am not that single minded. However, the products are fab and I still buy them. There are other companies such as Usborne (childrens books) or Body shop at Home, Virgin Vie (jewellery, make up) which all operate along similar lines and you can work whatever hours suits you.
